As a scare tactic, it might keep a few people in school. But if someone is determined to leave school, an undiploma is not going to stop them. Seems like a silly idea to me.

Yeah, but it could stop some, which is more important than stopping no one. It's a good idea, as long as it stops someone, it's worthwhile.

I think it's a ridiculous and stupid idea. The concept of 'undiplomas' is demeaning and offensive. Not everyone has to - or should be made to - complete high school if they don't want to. True, some drop-outs leave thoughtlessly - but there are others who do it for quite valid reasons. Some may not be able to complete high school, for personal or financial reasons, while some may simply find it unsatisfying - and other options, like adult education in the future, may be far more suitable. A high-school diploma is something - but it's not everything. At times, I think too much is made of graduating from high school - and the notion that those don't graduate are automatically losers is wrong.

thats pretty offensive to any dropouts. not all dropouts, leave school because theyre lazy and dont wont to wake up early enough for school. i dropped out of school when i was in the 9th grade, because i was told i could drop out or be expelled for my excessive inapropriate behavior. so giving kids an "undiploma" is just stupid. if they dropped out, im sure they have had enough poo, hearing about how they should have completed high school.

In theory it's a good idea, but in reality those dropouts will soon face the real world and find that they are the ones (unless they can learn a trade) that are destined for poverty, low wages, and less respect than their educated counterparts.

I wouldn't take one if I dropped out. Some people might think of it as a reward.

Good meaning behind the idea but I dont think kids that drop out are thinking logically like that.
