Has there been any side effects from the irradidation process? Thats something I would like to know before I say its ok. The killing of MO's are a good thing but there seems to be more parents should know about the process.

I'm guessing the opposition is all from parents thinking "irradiation? like radiation? like nuclear bombs and stuff? Bad!!!"

Maybe the parents with the problem should get up off their lazy butts and pack their kids a lunch, if they are so worried about it.

I agree with Kaneda, "irridation" just sounds like its something bad, so they are opposing it without actually finding out that it is.
If they're so concerned, why don't they just buy some freakin' Lunchables or something and shut up.

This technology has been out a long time and is used for products found in the average grocery store. Probably someone just learned of it and freaked out. The radiation goes through the meat, it doesn't stay. Just kills germs. If you saw a meat plant you would want anything that killed germs.

No, children shouldn't eat meat.

School cafeterias need to provide high quality nutritious food and offer vegetarian options. It might happen if schools get the funding they need and we weren't bombing the chit out of whoever disagrees with us and has oil.

This has just become a very big issue in the UK, as the government spends about 38p per day per child on school meals. That's less than they spend on prisoner's meals. Jamie Oliver (celeb chef) is campaigning for better meals for kids, balanced in salt, sugar and fat, plenty of fruit and veg - makes sense to me.

Using radiation to kill microbes is done every day in your kitchen. Why should we limit the govt schools?

Meh, I don't care what the children eat. Hell, kids eat dirt and bugs for crying out loud.
