It wouldn't entirely be her fault. The producers (or who ever) should have done their homework on her.

Oddly enough, I couldn't give a sh*t.

It wasn't her fault in my opinion, it's the producers that waited until after the show was over to start asking questions..

It wasn't her fault for lying? That makes a lot of sense.

She definitely shouldn't have lied about it - they made that rule really clear and she totally ignored it. She probably didn't think she'd actually win, but that still doesn't make it right. I thought Justin should have won anyway, if she hadn't been there he would have!
But I agree too they should have done their homework ... you'd think after all the people that have been outed after reality shows (the parents on Temptation Island and the crazy stalker from Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionare) that networks would really do their homework.

It isn't her fault for lying but if they didn't double check her its their fault. Hopefully they will learn the second time around

Yeah but she didn't. She went to court and everything. She was not a professional singer before hand.

But it said in the contract they can have no previous experience or contacts. She'd been in a studio recording music before, and was working on an album before she tried out for American Idol. There's no doubt she broke the rules, now it's just a question of if she gets to keep her prizes and if they can sue her for breach of contract or something.

It's definitely not her fault. She didn't even apply herself, some of her friends did for her. So, seeing as she herself didn't apply, total blame CAN be placed on the producers.

I think she was recording songs but not being paid to do it, so that should make her a non profession besides I bet all the final 5 were in studios somewhere around this country recording songs trying to get a break ... Would taking singing lesson make you a pro ? If not then recording songs shouldnt make you one either ...

No. It's the producers fault for not checking out the contestants.

I hate American Idol but it's pretty obvious that she did break the rules. Take everything away from her and humiliate the dumb broad

I wouldn't call her a professional just because she was working on an album.
