Indeed. The world has gone to hell. It's disgusting what has become commonplace on TV.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Tuesday 11/26/02 - 10:57:26 AM EST (GMT-5)
I never watch TV anyway...
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Tuesday 11/26/02 - 10:57:47 AM EST (GMT-5)
yes,but it doesn't bother me
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Sunday 12/1/02 - 3:44:28 PM EST (GMT-5)
Oh come on. If you don't like it, I believe there's a little switch on everybody's TV sets labelled "power". Most of you who are offended by it are probably the same people who are trying to hide from homosexuality and sex. Well, guess what? There are gay people everywhere...probably some of your friends are gay. And as for sex, I bet you conservatives are animals in the sack.

Come on, Leonessa, how do you really feel? :) The On/Off button and a little parental guidance is all the regulation needed.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/9/02 - 12:17:53 PM EST (GMT-5)
There's not enough indecency on TV these days. There should be more.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/9/02 - 1:02:57 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's an indecent fecking world. Supposing that some of those things on tv are trying to communicate something or be art, there is no reason to censor them. It only cheapens the message. But censor away if something is being indecent just to be indecent. But who's judging decency anyway?
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Friday 12/13/02 - 12:08:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
Exactly! Who's judging decency? I know I wouldn't want the federal gov't to do it for MY children; THEY think it's okay to annihilate people all over the world for political gain. I'd have to say that I will control the "indecency" pouring out of my tv by turning it off. The FCC shouldn't be deciding what I'm fit to see. How do you judge whether something is "being indecent just to be indecent"? Rudy Guiliani came down on an art show not long ago and threatened to cut off funding because he thought it was inflammatory. There's no middle ground with 1st amendment rights; people just have to be trusted to be considerate of one another. A little offensiveness is really a small price to pay.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Friday 12/13/02 - 12:25:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
If it offends you, don't watch it.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Friday 12/13/02 - 12:50:40 PM EST (GMT-5)
In the end, who the hell cares?
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/16/02 - 11:36:10 PM EST (GMT-5)
Two men kissing is not indecent unless a man and a woman kissing is too.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/16/02 - 11:58:14 PM EST (GMT-5)
i dont think so but im sure alot of people do.
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 12/28/02 - 8:58:32 AM EST (GMT-5)
The entire idea of censorship by the government of any type of expression is truly frightning to me.
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 12/28/02 - 9:16:08 AM EST (GMT-5)
Well no. After all, you dont HAVE to watch it. And if you dont want your children to see it, set them down with a book, take them to the park, or change the channel. Simple solution.
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 12/28/02 - 8:35:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
i agree with most all of what the people who said 'no' have said. LOL at hammysammy
17 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Saturday 2/19/05 - 5:13:30 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, it's worse out in the street, than on tv.
17 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 4/8/05 - 7:59:21 PM EST (GMT-5)
....If you don't like what's on tv, turn it off or change the channel. DAMN!!!
16 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 6/7/05 - 7:24:10 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'd say there is too much indecency on TV but NOT that there needs to be more regulations. Advertisers (who are actually equally as guilty) should just not support TV's shows with too much of it. TV these days is dumbing everyone down.
16 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Wednesday 6/8/05 - 2:40:29 PM EST (GMT-5)
more indecency is good
16 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 6/20/05 - 8:03:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
I doubt the stricter regulations would help much, but all the indecency makes mea mad.
16 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 6/20/05 - 8:10:25 PM EST (GMT-5)
You can see a woman chopped in half with a chainsaw but cannot see her breasts?

I don't think so.
After 9pm, television should be as indecent as it wants.

16 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 6/20/05 - 9:40:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
Freedom of speech !!

If it offends you, don't watch it. How hard could it be?

I am offended by some things on TV but I don't go around trying to violate the constitution because I am afraid of anything that mentions non christians or racial integration or genital ambiguity or homosexuality. My grandfathers did not put their lives on the line in Okinawa so I could have my constitutional rights violated.

16 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 6/23/05 - 3:31:29 PM EST (GMT-5)
All censorship does is allow for lazier parenting. Which is becoming more and more acceptable and facilitated in this country. If it continues on this pattern kids will be raised by a nurse in a white gown in a white room with no windows until they are 18. I know that is a slippery slope but think about it.
16 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 6/23/05 - 3:33:12 PM EST (GMT-5)
The only thing that offends me on TV are those awful commercials for the V-chip and Bill O'Reilly.
16 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Sunday 7/3/05 - 11:23:35 AM EST (GMT-5)
There is indeed more offensive programming on television, but only because there are more networks. Cable and satellite gives viewers more choices, often times with more offensive programming. The big networks must compete, so they spice up their programming a little to get you back. However, with more choices, you also have some additional non-offensive programming, so there really is no excuse.
