No, but extremly smart to brainwash this many people. Abraham must have been really smart to start his own religion just so he could get some action from a younger woman

I have no idea - I never met them.

He almost definately took cannibis, so you never know...
19 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 1/22/03 - 12:17:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I believe He was and is the Son of God.

Wouldn't that make him a bit schizophrenic by definition, then? Being the father, son AND holy ghost...
19 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 1/29/03 - 3:53:20 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, that would be more likely of his parents, wouldn't it?
19 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 1/29/03 - 3:55:02 PM EST (GMT-5)
Maybe he was tri-polar.

God did not tell him to rebel against the romans...Jesus was not a politcal figure at all...he came to die for our sins as a sacrifice, not make any political or social statement.
19 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Monday 2/3/03 - 8:50:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
I can't understood how he has died for my sins when i wasnt born then?

While the Trinity is one functioning body, I've always believed in the distinction between the three. I don't like references that imply that Jesus and God are exactly the same. As a preacher, rebl62 can probably phrase this better, Geoff, but the death of Jesus represented God's promise to forgive from then on.

Jesus never made any political statements? What about the parable of the Good Samaratin? And all the times he renounced the holy temple?
19 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Monday 2/3/03 - 8:59:31 AM EST (GMT-5)
...it was a rhetorical question..I have no use for preachers or organised religion.
19 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Monday 2/3/03 - 9:11:34 AM EST (GMT-5)
He was politicized by the people in power who felt threatened by Him; His goals were to go about the work of His Father. So sorry, Geoff.

the parable of the good samaratan was a teaching on how to be a neighbor...in response to the question "who is my neighbor" Jesus is saying that what matters is: who are you to be a neighbor to, and the answer: to those who need you to be their neighbor. A samaratin is used because of the "shock" value...a Jew could not imagine a Samaratin doing anything good...would be like the good Taliban or something like that.

...I hear you're a preacher rebl62. I'm glad you have a PC to use...maybe you should sell it and give all the proceeds to charity and the poor.

it belongs to the church
19 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Tuesday 2/4/03 - 9:41:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
....that's ok then........Seriously though, I never did understand the concept of being a Christian...I go past a church on a Sunday and see lots of expensive cars parked there...surely all the practicing Christians with personal wealth like that is a contradiction in terms?

What a question! The devil is probally schizo!
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/20/04 - 10:34:38 PM EST (GMT-5)
Why couldn't he be?
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 3/21/04 - 7:09:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
You never know.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 3/22/04 - 3:41:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
I doubt it. Religious delusions are an occasional symptom of schizophrenia, but the condition itself may be debilitating. Complex partial temporal lobe epilepsy is more likely.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 3/22/04 - 3:45:24 AM EST (GMT-5)
Without meaning to insult the memory of Jesus, I'd be interested to know whether David Koresh and others suffered from mental conditions akin to schizophrenia.

erm alot of people suffer from mental illnesses it doesnt make them any less capable, or belittle anything they have done.
