I would save the money but promise to give most of it to starving kids in third world counties, saving thousands, that would make the baby take on a roll like Jesus.

I'd save the baby because if I didn't I'd feel bad for the rest of my life.

i would save the baby because I really don't put much value on money.

If I saved the money, the government would probably do checks on me and find no evidence of legal ownership, so I can't keep it in the bank. Keeping the money in my house would be dangerous!
So its the baby of course. I would feel highly guilty if I looked so lowly upon another individuals life and decide that the money was worth more than the baby's life.

I see the logic in what wolf_boy said earlier in the thread and I understand his point of view.

But what if it was my baby falling into the volcano with the billion dollars and the guy standing next to the volcano chose to save the cash and told me that he could now save countless lives with the money instead of just saving my child? I wouldn't see anything noble or logical in his decision.

That's why I'd save the baby every time, even if it is just one life.

HAHA that went through my mind, too! I'm like 'well i'll just donate to starving babies and africa and make up for it...' then i realized im being selfish. save the baby.

If anyone had a billion dollars, or even ten billion dollars, they'd happily pay it in ransom to kidnappers for the safe return of their own child. You're saving a life by choosing the baby. Period. Bird in the hand, so to speak, where the potential lives saved by a billion dollars... so? They're *potentially* saved, and it's very vague how they'd be saved, exactly, anyway.

Baby first, then the unnecessary reward for saving the baby. Yay immorality!
16 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Wednesday 5/24/06 - 8:53:31 PM EST (GMT-5)
oh ffs this is going to make me sound like a bad person BUT i'd save the money.
because well i need it.
16 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Wednesday 5/24/06 - 8:55:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
The money, without a doubt. Babies die everyday, regardless of if I have the option to save one of them or not. Cruel, selfish, etc etc, I know and particularly don't care.
15 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Monday 3/26/07 - 10:27:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'd save the child.
