That's the problem with having a HUGE book and having to fit it into a two hour movie....
14 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 7/12/07 - 12:51:10 AM EST (GMT-5)
They skipped a crap load of stuff. and alot of really important parts.

This movie was actually kinda artsy at times. I think that if i never read the book i would have liked it. But during the movie i could help thinking "THEY RUINED IT!" Cause they skipped so much

But other than that, i liked it!

Some parts in the preview look over-acted and Ÿber dramatic, but I still want to see it.

Ha yeah rock I know what you mean. My mom was able to enjoy it much more because it had been a long time since she'd read the 5th book.

They should of just made it longer.

If you make it too much longer though, non-hardcore-HP fans won't really want to see it. (Though I would totally be on board for like a super long one! Special edition DVD anyone?)

If it's a movie from a book, they should get it right, even if it's longer. If someone is not that much into Harry Potter to see it, they can just buy it later, or whatever. I'd totally buy a special edition dvd.

Unfortunately it's all about the profits... I hope there's some good deleted scenes/special features on this dvd!

I've got all the previous movies, but only GOF on DVD (for now). There aren't ANY special features on it! Did I get gipped or was that how they all were?

My Goblet Of Fire DVD had no special features either. :/ I think the others did.

'Phoenix' breaks opening day record

The Wednesday opening of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has set a new record at the box office. The fifth Potter installment took in $44 million, making it the most successful movie for a Wednesday debut. It surpassed Spiderman 2, which had made $40.2 million on its opening day. Paul Dergarabedian, the president of Media By Numbers, calls the record "pretty incredible."

"This is one of those rare franchises that is as relevant today as it was when the franchise first started. For a fifth installment to be breaking records is pretty incredible."

He also predicts the movie to quickly rise to the $100 million mark over the weekend.

Take that Spiderman!

I had a hard time sitting through all of it, anyway...

Really? It flew by for me. I felt like I'd barely been there for an hour and it was already over. I think I'm gonna go see it again tomorrow afternoon.

I thought it was good, but something about it doesn't make it memorable..

Loved this movie!!!
Except I didn't like the fact that they
killed Sirius wrong.

And there wasn't enough Draco!

Draco was hot in this movie, just like the last one. Mmmmm.

I can't f*cking wait until the next movie.

Draco galore! *drools*

I loved it! Good job of adapting a very long book, although...once again, lots of stuff was cut out. ...but all and all I really liked it. The scenes with the Thestrals and Luna were very lovely. Well done.

Mhmmm. They better shows loooots of him.

I'm just mad they kind of left the whole

romance between Harry and Cho at such an odd situation. He found out she didn't rat them out on purpose, and yet they didn't make up or anything...it wasn't obviously over like the books had made it out to be.

You must have bought the dvd with no special features. The one with it was more expensive (ghastly really, I'm glad my dad got it for me). Mine has special features- deleted scenes, stuff while they were making it and stuff.

I enjoyed it. Luna (especially), Bella, Neville all excellent. Well done on the acting for the most part. Hermione should quit overacting and Harry isn't quite there yet. Ron was great.
Some parts of left something to be desired. Sirus' death wasn't well done, the ministry scene in general (Harry's possession anyone?), Harry-Cho. But overall, good. Better than GOF.

They have to!
Starts off in the train, where Harry see's Draco showing off the Dark Mark, and getting stuck on the train, etc.
Then he's all throughout the middle.
and he's at the end, in the tower and with Severus!

Yeah, we should see a lot of Draco next movie. Which is good because I think Tom Felton is actually a good actor. He just doesn't get much opportunity in the movies... Got nothing this time...

I know! Ugh.
I'm always looking for him in the backgrounds of the scenes. I'm pretty pathetic, hehe.
