Same here. I'm just glad that they decided to do a midnight showing here instead of waiting until Friday! I spent a whole $1 on my ticket, and I'm stoked.
Bwhaaha, I love that. There is something about Alan Rickman...

Aye, I can't believe you paid a dollar! It's going to cost me $13 if I go for IMAX...
I know! The theater here has always been super cheap, and I love that they don't increase the price when major movies come to town. (Which they could, since they just remodelled the entire theater).
I totally feel like I'm in a champagne bottle, waiting for the cork to pop off! 10 minutes until I leave!!!
Ok, I thought it was great for what it was with what they had to cut out of it. Now, here's the differences that I noticed, so don't read if you don't wanna know yet (I'm writing them as I think of them, so they're not in order really):
Lupin wasn't part of the 'rescue squad'. Hagrid wasn't fired. Harry doesn't go to the hospital with everybody else after Arthur's attack - his Occlumency lessons started immediately. No hospital scene at all, so no Lockhart and no Neville's parents in hospital. No Peeves (what a shock.) Umbridge wasn't anywhere NEAR as evil in the movie as she was in the book. Neville finds the ROR. No Dobby No 'revolving' room in the Ministry
I know there's more, but it's 3:00am and I'm having a hard time remembering.
That was the fastest 3 hours I can remember ever having though.
I was mad that they left the whole Harry/Cho thing up in the air. He thought she ratted them out, shuns her, finds out it was because of Veritesarum, but doesn't go to make up? And they sort of just stopped talking? That was just weird, if you ask me.
I wish they would have left Dobby in, but oh well...
And there were some moments that felt rather corny. But it was funny so I laughed, and I liked it.
It's another one of those where I can somewhat handle what they cut out. The beginning was good, I wasn't as disappointed in that as I was the 4th movie, for sure. Bellatrix kicked ass. Just like I knew she would.
Sirius dies by a curse (assumed to be the avada kedavra) right before he goes through the curtain. most people probably didnt realise that in the book and are saying he was killed wrong because they thought only the veil killed him. =P
While I like the Harry Potter universe, I find Harry Potter himself to be totally flat and uninteresting. He probably had over a dozen tortured flashbacks/dream sequences/mental invasions, even two of which would have been too many. It was like watching someone add weight to cotton candy. Of all the principal characters, his is the most lifeless. He has no nuance or depth to his character--just history. Nor does he have an interest in anything that doesn't involve him directly. Hermione and Ron are by far the more developed of the three, because they actually have a normal range of personality traits (not being saddled with all of this heavy, melodramatic character history.)
I say get rid of Harry and let the others shine through!

I don't remember them ever being certain of his death, he only fell behind the veil, which no one has come back from. If she was going to kill sirius off she would have made it clear to do so. Sirius is coming back in book 7!!!
Also, did you notice at the end movie after sirius is lost behind the veil, luna says to harry "the things you lose have a way of coming back to you" or something like that? Forshadowing sirius's return!!!
hey did anyone notice snapes memories? wheres the pensieve? WHERES THE ENTIRE MEMORY?? although i loved when umbridge intarrggeted (whatever) snape. hes like. "yes" and "obvacably" then ron laughs. lols

In the book, Harry found out Snape's memory though the pensieve and in the movie he just did a spell at Snape to find it. All in all, I thought this was a terrible movie in accordance to the books.
