The 1st one was good, 2nd one was okay. Maybe this will be one better.

2nd one was MUCH better than the first. But I'm not sure..I WANT it to be good, and I plan on seeing it.

the first one was epic. I thought that the second one sucked major arse though. This one looks pretty good

I hated the first one. Decided to give the second one a shot and loved it. Saw this one today. I liked it more then both. That could be though because I saw this one in theaters, and not the others. Movies always seem scarier in theaters.

I was pleased with this one for the most part. The moving camera was a nice touch, and them scene with the girl's hair was excellent. I also like how most of the scenes I saw in previews on TV weren't actually on the movie, so nothing was expected.

I think the end could have been better, the human element behind it just didn't feel right for some reason.

The* scene

I liked this a lot but did not enjoy the ending. Once in the grandmother's house, the boyfriend meandered in the dark before a quick, brutal end. The coven background story was interesting, but was cut short as soon as it became intriguing. Also, the story did not feel like a natural extension of the first two. It's been a while, but I thought from the first two films that their great-great grandmother had sold the soul of the next male child in their lineage (in exchange for what I don't know). Why would killing the girls' mother in the film bring about a male son? Or her boyfriend? Clearly the demon doesn't haunt all females of every generation (the grandmother appeared to be its ally). I couldn't spot a motive for the demon's actions or the coven's.

I'll see this when it comes out of DVD.
I liked the first one, and I think I feel the same about the second...but I had my son by then (he was about 2 months at the time). I think hubby and I checked up on him so much the week after watching 2.
I like that it's the same story through them all.

Unless you have a nice TV with surround sound, watching any of these movies on DVD won't come close to the experience you'll get in the theater.

I wondered that about the girls' mother myself. But then I realized earlier in the film that her mother pressured her to have a boy and she said no. So at that point she became expendable.

[spoiler]I remember that part. But what does killing the mother achieve? How does that further the goal of having a baby boy in the family? And it seemed as if the grandmother intended to brainwash the girls, or at least influence them. Why didn't the grandmother simply do that to the mother? It's hard to make sense of.

Just like I said: she didn't want a boy; she became expendable. I think you're overthinking this.

I might go see this. My sister saw it and it really freaked her out. I saw the first one in cinema and although I didn't find it scary at all except for the very end when I jumped, I still really enjoyed it. My favourite part about seeing horror films in cinemas is everyone laughing at the people who have the best reactions to the jump-scenes.

I just saw the second one there and it freaked me out a bit more, but I think it was because I watched it by myself at home.

I would have enjoyed it a hell of a lot more if there wasn't a bunch of dickheads behind being so dramatic.

It was good though, I ended up dreaming about being locked in a haunted house last night.

The moving camera was really good. This one really built the tension, and things happened quicker. That's what bored me a little in the 2nd one, it took a while to get really creepy.

When the mother was floating at the top of the stairs, then fell...that REALLY freaked me out, I didn't like that bit.

I would have liked it to go in to more detail about the coven, and why the shapes are there and what they mean. I understand the whole theory, but would ha ve like it more detailed.

I hope they do another to explain how the Grandmother got involved.

they probably cant make another one about the grandma. i dont think there were camera's back then . . .

the bit when the girl makes the dad's friend do bloody mary was the best bit i thought. but the ending wasnt scary at all.

but there was a daughter that didnt get killed in the second one wasnt there?

Pretty much what wiseNsexy said.

It would have been better with more details. It kinda seems like they skipped an important part of the story that would have made this one make sense.

We need the Grandma's story or something.

but seriously. there was a teenage girl in the second one that didnt die wasnt there?

I think the thing that scared me the most, was myself. The entire time I was just siting there waiting for something to pop up in front of the camera, or someone to go flying in to the camera, just nerves all tense. None of that happened.

I remember the reason why I liked PA 1 is because it seemed so real. It was just 2 people in a house. The camera was ALWAYS where they were, so we got to experience the activity from their point of view, got scared when they got scared and so on. It felt more personal, not like a movie, like this may ACTUALLY be happening to you. The others doesn't have that kind of factor, so this last one was just OK for me. I didn't really like the ending. Though, I suppose we now know why Katie is the way that she is.

I wonder if they're going to finally do one in the present now. Because I don't think the grandma had camera's in her day?

I actually jumped a few times, watching this one. There were only 8 of us in the entire theatre Friday (The only eight NOT watching sparkly vampires), and we all jumped. I just glad no one was a screamer this time. During the second one, teenaged boys would scream. I couldn't stop laughing.

Did I miss something...
The commercial showed the two girls trying Bloody Mary, but I didn't see it in the actual movie I only saw skinny guy and Katie doing it

Did Toby growl? My teen and I have been arguing this. She says he only blows air, not growls. I swear he growled a few times in his 'room' in the girl's room

The scariest part, for me, was when Toby attacked Katie - kids in scary movies always make the movie more scary, for some reason

My middle child suddenly started naming a toy the same name as the demon. I didn't say it out loud, so her sister must have. It was a bit disturbing. LOL either that, or it could just be that she picked up on the name because my husband now works with a guy by that name.

This movie was funny me and my sister laughed the whole time
