Well duh, there's a Jonas Brother in it.

I want to see it because it's Miyazaki, I don't want to see it because of the retarded people they cast for it.

I am undecided.

The AP review we got in our paper had a hilarious opening line. It went along the lines of "Ponyo is the most awesome movie you'll ever see, if you're five years old or under the influence of drugs".

I've heard it's certainly more kid themed than anything else of Miyazaki, but I can't turn it down. I'll probably get around to it this week. The guy's work is too visually stunning to miss it.

I saw the first 3/4 of the movie at my gf's apartment before we had to go out. It was cute. Story wasn't all that crazy, but cute.

The animation is amazing.

I may watch it if it shows on TV. Miyazaki is just mind blowing.

VERY kid oriented, but also very enjoyable. I took my little sisters to see it and they loved it (6 and 8 years). Of course, we had to stay and dance to the theme song during the credits.

Finally got around to seeing this. The kids absolutely loved it. I found it to be decent kids fare. I agree that the theme song at the end was definitely a highlight.

i like how underneath all the cutesyness it's essentially the story of a f*cking tsunami hitting japan

Only just got around to buying this the other day, and I'm so glad I swiped up a blu-ray copy! The animation is rich and smooth, and the colours are absolutely astonishing.

As far as story goes, I'll let slide that it's certainly more geared towards the kids. Morbo's right, in that isn't a lot of weight to the whole tsunami thing. But it's just a big load of fun anyway.

Probably in my top five Studio Ghibli films though. Very awesome.

I saw it for the first time RIGHT AFTER the tsunami this year...so that made it a bit disturbing to watch!
Also, that was during my super anxious nausea all the time period of my life...and any scene involving water made me feel sick.

But, even with my personal situation and the bad timing, I enjoyed it.
Such great animation...and so magicalllllll...as usual.
