Really looking forward to it. Loved the first one as well.

Heard that it's going to be someone else directing this one so I'm not too sure about that but I'ev already seen the trailer for it in the cinema and it looks REALLY good.

It's a completely different cast because the old cast were all tied up doing other things.
They're re-populating the country when (surprise, surprise) there's a new outbreak. Looks fun.

Looks amazing, and judging from the preview I think it might have the same brilliant, atmospheric soundtrack that the first one had.

I'll definitely be watching this one.

I'm glad they waited so long for a sequel. This makes me disinclined to believe that this is just another money-milking crap sequel.

I -love- this movie. Granted, I heard it caught a lot of flack for 'symbolizing the war in Iraq and the current AIDS situation'. Honestly, I didn't think about any sort of current political situation because I was too effing worried about bloody zombies.

As a movie (instead of propaganda), I thought it was great. I heard complaints that most couldn't connect with and care about the characters, but I disagree completely. I really felt for the main characters. Perhaps even more than I did in the first. I'm not sure why, but something about these characters and their story hurt my heart.

I actually teared up mulitiple times.

I really loved this movie. Gah. I can't say enough about it. Robert Carlyle was amazing. The children were rather great. I loved the daughter, Tammy. I just... really enjoyed this movie. I always wanted to see what happened -after- the zombies. How the world would be, how the government would handle it, etc etc.

And a few thoughts on things...

-- I liked how the sniper really felt for the other people involved. It really makes sense considering at the beginning he was able to see into their lives through the windows. He was able to really attach himself to them (as were we!)

-- I loved the part with Rose Byrne and the kids in the dark with the night scope. I thought it was a rather original scene and I thought Byrne did a great job acting. I really felt like she was trying to comfort the children. I was aghast when she died.

-- I LOVE the sniper. Gah. I can't say enough about my love of that character. I love when he got out of the car (before they burned him up) and told Byrne's character: 'I'll see you there'. And you completely knew he wasn't going to make it. You could see it in his eyes that -he- know he wasn't going to make it, thus the leaving of the gun in the car.

-- I loved the opening scene. I loved that you saw all those people willing to sacrifice themselves for the ones they loved. How they were willing to, and often did die because they loved someone enough to do it. And how we nearly resented the man for running off and leaving his wife, even though we know he'd die if he didn't. It was a real gut wrencher.

-- I also liked the way the government was potrayed in dealing with the outbreak and quarantine and even the code red. I think it was 'pretty' realistic. The stages of dealing with the crisis.

-- There were a few scenes I didn't like. I hated the helicopter pilot, though I can understand his role in the movie. I hated when we went barreling through the group of zombies. That scene seemed rather cheap to me. Like a cop out for more gore.

Hm. I thought there was another I didn't like. Oh, well.

I'm hearing a lot of good reviews, I hope I have some time to see it soon.

Do I have to see the first one to see this one?
14 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Saturday 5/12/07 - 5:08:28 PM EST (GMT-5)
Night: Nah. My friend watched it without seeing the first. It would only make more sense where the 'Rage' came from and all.

Okay, thanks.
People in journals are being bitches and won't answer there.
