The movie is sooooo awesome I just watched it yesterday!
I am still a bit spooked that Reivers are gonna come get me
I also heard that Joss Whedon might make a second one if he gets the chance.

The reivers are cool and the movie is good. I should see the mini-series.

Any word on a sequel actually being made?

Joss Whedon isn't working on the Wonder Woman movie anymore, last I heard, so he should have some free time.

I saw a commercial for a 2 disc set of Serenity last night. 60 minutes of more special features.

I don't know what Whedon has to do to prove that this deserves a second chance, they re-released the same damn film and it's like top 10 on amazon DVDs already.

At least give him a direct to DVD movie with a decent budget.
Hell, you'd barely even have to advertise it. Just put the word out there and the rumor mills will do the rest.

You can't stop the signal.

Good movie.

My only problem was the LAME fist-fight scenes.

Ain't no way a girl like that can beat up so many guys with her hands and the movie failed to convincingly portray that.

I would've preferred if perhaps she had some sort of telepathic chi energy attack power which made her unstoppable.

That would've been more plausible.

Those fight scenes were awesome! Take another look. They're all one long take, at least 1 minute before there is a scene cut. She did all those stunts herself.

But they were LAME.

Her punches and kicks looked weak and slow wouldn't really hurt at all.

But she was going for pressure points or something....?

Maybe like what the Operative did?

And I think some of it was slowed down a bit to make it more surreal.

I don't know... her martial arts skill wasn't that impressive that's all.

It just annoyed me because martial arts fight scenes can either look amazing when pulled off correctly or lame. Serenity's fight scene to me just looked lame. Then again I grew up on pre-hollywood Jackie Chan flicks.

They could've made the fighting more rugged and brutal. Given her some sort of psychic power instead of "killer moves"

I THINK that River's "psychicness" was supposed to be kind of subtle. Not flashy like Psylocke from the comic books. And her fighting skills were mostly "academy" trained, not innate psychic warrior stuff.

But the fight scenes in Serenity were a little ridiculous anyways. Jayne flipping a guy and slamming his head on the floor? Way too cinematic and unrealistic.

Ever see any of those drunken brawl videos? Fights in movies should be like that. Lots of circling and posturing, then 1.5 seconds of brutality.

The series is far better than the movie, but the movie was great, too.

My boyfriend introduced me to the series. He told me how much he loved it, I bought the box set and Serenity movie for him, he got me to sit down and watch.

It was so addicting, I watched the box set in about 2 days. My favorites are Out of Gas, Ariel, and Heart of Gold.

I highly recommend both the movie Serenity and the box set of Firefly to any and all.

My favorites are Shindig, Our Mrs. Reynolds, Jaynestown, and War Stories.

Jaynestown is my boyfriend's favorite. I bought him the shirt from cafepress.com that has the Ballad of Jayne lyrics on it.

Can you tell his favorite character is Jayne? lol

I like Inara. She gets all the best lines.

Adam Baldwin (Jayne Cobb) is gonna be on that new Chuck show.

Sounds like the series is really good also.

Does the movie finish off the series or lead into it?

I might try and find it.

14 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Wednesday 8/29/07 - 12:42:46 PM EST (GMT-5)
The movie finished off the series. Well, kinda. Rumor has it Joss Whedon is gonna continue the series as a comic book, kind of like Season 8 of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.

But the Firefly TV show is REALLY good. Probably the best Sci-Fi TV show ever.

I agree.

Yeah, I can't wait to watch it again. My goal is to watch all the episodes in 1 day. Maybe even squeeze in the Serenity movie. I might be able to do it before my new job starts. That would be awesome. I just gotta get my discs back from the friend that borrowed them.

If they made a sequel to Serenity, what do you think would happen?

Any major plotline and storyline ideas?

Character developments?

How would Zoe deal with Wash's death?
Would Mal and Inara ever get together?
How will Simon fill his mouth with foot now that he's dating Kaylee?
How will River act as a semi-sane full-blown psychic?
Will Jayne be super crazy jealous of Simon? Will it lead to more betrayl? Will he investigate deeper into the late Shepherd Book's secret past?
If Inara and Mal do become an item, how will they deal with Inara's profession?
Will Inara's secret agenda become more important and out in the open?
Will Mal and Zoe ever be more than war buddies?
14 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Tuesday 9/11/07 - 3:30:49 AM EST (GMT-5)
Zoe would be pregnant with a son... Wash Jr.

Mal and Inara would continue to go back and forth before finally succumbing to a fit of passion and then griping over that one night for the next 2 season.

The question is, how WON'T he?

I'm thinking now that the Miranda problem is solved, maybe that part of River's mind will be less tumultuous and she'll be marginally more normal.

Actually answered this in the Firefly thread. I think Kaylee and Jayne will end up sleeping together, her betraying Simon (maybe she was drunk or something), but Jayne would do it willingly and knowingly.

Definite investigations into Book's past.

Inara's profession would always be a sore point for Mal even if she quit. The only way I could see him getting over it is if he got her pregnant.

I'm sure it will.

No, no, and no. Well maybe. Maybe she starts missing Wash really bad one night and he's upset about Inara and bam a one night stand. But that's it.
