Very good movie,my husband took me to see it today, after we watched 4 episodes of Firefly. Now I have 9 more to watch. I'm hoping SCFI or someone will bring the series back.
I went to see this film on Saturday. After reading the novelization, I expected to see more of Inara, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Anyways, really liked the movie.
Warrick, I wasn't expecting it! I knew Shephard could be spared but I really didn't think Wash would go. I love him and I was so shocked that I didn't even move for a long time afterwards. *tear*

Yeah, I was stunned too, but talking with people--I thought it was fitting how Shepard went out. Kinda characteristic.
But Wash! MY GOD! I was so upset. Sucks that Book wasn't in the movie.
This came second in my personal list of worst films of all time (after blair witch 2 - book of spells)the script was lame the narrative managed the impressive feat of being both mind numbingly simple and irritatingly complex at the same time, it was realy awful but i put the distance between me and the rest of the reviewers on this site down to the atlantic between us becase something obviously got lost in the journey
I'd never seen the TV show, but found it easy enough to follow. It was good fun, but at points it felt like it was spoofing itself with over-emotional scenes. At one point I was almost shouting "GO AND GET THE BAG!!!" at the screen because they were spending too long being honest and whatever to each other.
I actually enjoyed this movie. I liked the cheesy comedy and the action was very cool. If you like sci-fi/action flicks, you should check this one out.
It's rather nifty watching the 'behind the scenes' stuff.
It's astonishing that Summer Glau just does all the fight scenes herself. You really wouldn't want to mess with her...
Conversation between one of her trainers and Joss Whedon: Trainer:"She can roundhouse kick someone in the head, from behind, around a pole. Can you build a pole?" Joss:"...erm, yeah, I think we can build a pole."
Excellent action sci-fi, one of the best I've ever seen really. It had good humour, amazing fight scenes, and an actually interesting story, I liked it all around.
The best part was undoutably when Serenity flew to see Mr. Universe towards the end of that movie, that last 30-40 minutes was just pure excellence. I especially love when the assasin is laughing because he isn't even changing his course, and then out of nowhere this massive Reverg ship just materailizs out of the gas cloud, brilliant!
One thing though: Why the hell is everything in this movie written in Japanese?
Anyway, I highly recomend this film, it's action and sci fi with heart, intelligence, and incredible visuals.
Three picture deal? Please, for the love of almighty f%^king God, tell me that is not some wild rumor. Please, in the name of all that is holy and good, tell me there is some truth to this.
I loved this series.(probably my favourite series ever on TV) I watched a few episodes when it was first on TV, but it was on at a time I couldn't really watch it. I didn't get it when it first came out on DVD, but when I found out the movie was coming out, I got it and proceeded to watch it practically nonstop until the movie finally came out. I felt I had to be fully prepared for it. The movie was also great. It had the same feel as the TV show, which I liked. I was afraid it'd feel too big, like the X-Files movie.(The X-Files had a whole bunch of other stuff wrong with it, too, but that's for another thread) Anyway, the story was good. The writing was excellent. It had action, adventure and it finished up the series nicely if that's what happens, but it also could go on easily.
IF there are sequels, I hope they involve YoSafridget and Nietchka. (Sp?) Probably have to throw in some Badger, too. With only 14 episodes, it's hard to have recurring characters.
And they have to return to Jaynestown!!!
If the Alliance is logical, there is no reason to go after the crew of Serenity and River Tam, but when was the last time the government was logical? They're best at getting in folks' way.
