My roommate and her boyfriend saw this last night and said it was really good...There were a lot of scary parts, apparently...

I just saw this last night. I'd have to say, wait to rent it. It's WAY WAY predictable, it starts off quite slow and awkward. And there's a horrible romping scene, that although normally, would turn people on, it was just completely in the wrong place and didn't make any sense at all. The acting was good, but the ending was way too far fetched. You thought the movie was going to end like 5 different times. It's worth seeing I guess, but not when you have to pay $8.

Ahhh... I wish there were more opinions! Is it too scary for one to see alone? If that one is pretty easily scared?

This was surprisingly a good movie. I liked it. *spoilers*
but why did martin say he witnessed that murder? He could have gotten away with it probably. And the guy with the french accent was kinda hard to understand!
I jumped so much when angleina was lying on martins bed and he grabbed her! I wasn't expecting the movie to have things like that.

Well, I went to see the movie last night with my boyfriend, and there were two parts I jumped to. It wasn't that predictable, but the ending was a bit toooo far fetched to believe. The sex scene was a bit explicit, and I wasn't expecting that from Angelina Jolie....but hey, I guess the best of the best do it. The movie wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I was expecting something different, the previews are a bit misleading. But hey, I wouldn't spend 8.00 on it, I only spent 5.50, so it wasn't that bad.

I can't wait for this to come out...reminds me of a book of the same name, although not sure whether it's based on it. And I have to see it just because of Olivier Martinez

The hand part when she's on his bed freaked me out so much, but really, it was lame that she just lied down. I wouldn't of. The sex scene was hot, until you realized that they were f*cking under pictures of mutilated corpses. I liked the ending. It was predictable, though.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/27/04 - 9:43:31 PM EST (GMT-5)
How is something predictable when everyone thought it was 5 different people? Either way, the ending was a bit much, my own opinions about the stomach stabbing--I thought that was disgusting. Over all, I think the acting was well done and the movie in general is worth the $10 to see it in the theaters. Nothing else is playing right now that is close to this movie.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 3/28/04 - 7:02:13 AM EST (GMT-5)
Looks great in previews but I'll wait for it to be released on video I think.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 3/28/04 - 7:15:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
Krissy, if anyone thought there were 5 different people that could have been the suspect...I have to ask why they're going to see movies in the first place if they're that dense. The whole point of movies is to give you enough information about each charactar so that you can try to figure out "who-dunnit". If you can't figure that out, don't watch it. I don't understand why idiot people have to go see movies they know they'll never figure out.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 3/28/04 - 9:04:17 AM EST (GMT-5)
I want to see it, but I probably won't get around to seeing it in the theater.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 3/28/04 - 7:08:40 PM EST (GMT-5)
Rose, you said in your previous post it was "way way too predictable" and then you finished your post adding "you thought the movie would end in 5 different ways"... I commented implying that that sounded like you were contradicting yourself. Which is why I said how is it predictable if people are constantly assuming it's someone else. Either way, I like that aspect of the movie that until the last 15 minutes you really had no idea who was the bad guy.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 3/28/04 - 8:32:13 PM EST (GMT-5)
Five different "times" is what I said. There's a big difference, there. Times as in, there were times when the movie would drop off and you would think that would be a good time to end it, and then it didn't end. Ways implies other things that involve it obviously not being predictable.
And you DID have an idea who the bad guy was. As soon as Ethan Hawke went into that interrogation room, I knew he was the killer. It wasn't hard to figure out, they didn't leave much to the imagination. They made it way too easy.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Tuesday 3/30/04 - 5:23:30 PM EST (GMT-5)
I agree, Rose. I haven't even seen the movie, but I could guess that Hawke wuz the killer. They need to work a bit on their plots.

"The sex scene was a bit explicit, and I wasn't expecting that from Angelina Jolie"

HAHA, um, you haven't seen Original Sin, have you, mandie? lmfao.

18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 4/5/04 - 10:12:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
Then there was that other movie, which I can't remember.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 4/15/04 - 1:14:48 PM EST (GMT-5)

18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Friday 4/16/04 - 6:02:32 AM EST (GMT-5)
'Taking Lives' was nothing new, and it got a tad preposterous - but it was entertaining nonetheless, and it had several good scares and shocks.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 4/17/04 - 1:17:00 PM EST (GMT-5)
i thought that this movie was good. when the arm came out the bed, that was the scariest part.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 5/1/04 - 11:33:40 PM EST (GMT-5)
I didn't pick whodunnit and I enjoyed it..I didn't find it scary, though I did jump when the arm came from under the bed..

18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/2/04 - 1:24:31 PM EST (GMT-5)

I'm with you Rose...I knew it was Ethan the minute he was in the interrogation room also...but as for the ending....I didn't expect for it to all be an act...that did catch me off guard...and yes I agree was way to far fectched...Overall though it was a decent movie...

18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/2/04 - 1:25:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
But I did think that Kiefer Sutherland was going to be in the movie longer then he was...he had what like one speaking part...
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Monday 8/16/04 - 3:02:37 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think I want to see this one.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Tuesday 8/17/04 - 12:42:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
This was a decent thriller. It had it's good moments but it wasn't anything spectacular. If your looking for a better rental get Silence of the Lambs or Seven. If your looking for a better shot of Anjelina's tits try Gia.
