We just had to watch this for my LGBT film class. The sex scene is like 7 minutes long, but the film moves pretty slowly. I wasn't personally attracted to the blond. The film tries to be gay enough for its L audience but straight enough for the heterosexuals. Its kind of strange in the characterization of some minor characters.
Still a very good and, considering it was released in 1986, it's not surprising they wanted to make it a bit more palatable for the mainstream audience.
That sex scene, though, IS pretty long for a mainstream film by any standards. Somehow, had it been two guys I doubt it would have been as long. 7/10.
