I've seen this film three times. It's not a happy, Disney-type film, rather a sophisticated, dark, insightful and exquisite animated movie. A planet is inhabited by giants and the humans are the pets! Made me become a vegitarian! Great film.

fascinating and somewhat creepy is how i would describe 'fantastic planet.'

i would call it impressive and a bit slow for those who are not used to such films. the fact that the blue females had openings in their costumes for their breasts, amused me.

The style of animation is very European.

It's hard to believe the story is allegorical...the Soviet invasion of the Czech republic? I don't remember reading about that.

Anyway...enjoyable, if bleak!

This was a pretty depressing movie but well worth it. The animation was so trippy, it's genius.
