You need to do the order of operations. Step 1- (4-2)=2 So now the thing is 2(-1)+4(2)x2. Step 2- 2(-1) and 4(2). 2(-1)=-2 and 4(2)=8 So now the problem is -2+8x2. Step 3- 8x2=16 So now the problem is (-2)+16 which is really 16-2 which is 14.
