I never knew the US didn't compete in 1980. I was alive then, you'd think I'd remember something like that. Interesting.

The US boycotted the 1980 Olymnpics because they were in Moscow and the the Cold War was happening. In 1984, the Soviet Union boycotted the Olympics in L.A. for the same reason.
