Sooo my place won't allow cats or dogs, which is in itself retarded. So I've been thinking about getting either a pair of rats or mice. I've had hamsters and guinea pigs, but never rats or mice.

I prefer rats, but am concerned about the bigger cage/bigger need for exercise. Any thoughts, ideas? Have or do you own any rodents?

Get a rat, teach it commands, enjoy having a creature that feels like it truly bonds with you.

Rats are super smart. Arsenic could give you some pointers.

I am of absolutely no help here.
But did you enjoy owning guinea pigs?

thanks!

The guinea pig used to squeak loudly into the night (even though he was fed, etc) - and would keep me up. It was not the best.

We have rats.

The kinds we don't want.

Smart little bastards even actually know how to trick the traps.

Rats for sure. They are smarter, nicer, and cleaner.
Mine don't have a huge cage but every few weeks I put in new boxes and paper towel tubes tied from the top for them to run through.
