So in English We are about to start reading the book Hamlet by Shakespeare.. and I have no idea what it's really about and our teacher suggests that we read about the book's plot and stuff before we actually start reading the book. So can someone help with this and tell me anything you know about it? It would really be helpful, thanks!

Sparknotes or cliffnotes or whatever. Like a "plot analysis" or character analysis
most of your friends will be reading those and not reading the book anyway, just look at them to get an idea of things. Don't read the actual book with those though

That's an odd thing for a teacher to suggest PRIOR to reading the book.

Go to "No Fear Literature" on spark notes while you're reading it too. It will show you the normal text on the left and the modern version of it on the right.
Very, very helpful for Shakespeare.

No Fear Shakespeare is a good source if you want to read it in "modern" English, I agree.
