First on homework - I have 6 of 10 pages done. I'll have 7 as soon as Mikey comes home and tells me howtf to do charts and graphs on Excel.

Second, movies. We just got back from seeing the new X-Men movie. It was okay. Not my fave, but visually nice. I'm not a purest, so I thought it was okay.

Finally, my teeth. I got two cavities filled on Thursday and right now my face still hurts. Cold air blowing across them hurts, so breathing hurts. D'oh. I'm hoping this improves.

How's it going, YT?

I have no homework/cavities and I've never seen the movie, so...

Kinda boring for you, eh?

I hate getting fillings. They never hurt after I got them, though. I made the mistake of going to lunch right after getting them, though... kinda sucked to eat with the novacaine.

*snickers* Yeah, that's not usually a good idea.

It hurt this last time getting them. The 'numbing' gel she used didn't numb so well so I felt each novocaine shot. Then she was all "open a little wider" and I have a small mouth as it is. So once the novocaine wore off, my jaw hurt.

Now my jaw hurts along my teeth on the bottom. I just hope I don't have to go back in. Gah.

What?! There's numbing gel? I never got any numbing gel! They just stuck the bastard right into my mouth.
Once they didn't even use enough and they had to give me the shot again... after attempting to drill into my teeth. My God, I hate dentists.
So expensive.

Whenever I get cavities filled, I always get a laser so no numbing is required.
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:17:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
Blue ~ *nods* There IS numbing gel. Tastes like minty feet.

I'm not a fan of denists myself. But I've been cutting teeth since I was 4 months old and ever since it's been down-hill from there.

Die ~ Laser??
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:18:20 PM EST (GMT-5)
Whoa... they shoot stuff into your gums...?!

Can't they just knock you out?
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:20:47 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yup, a laser!
They put the filling bit in position with a clamp, position a laser toward the filling, and then laser it for 5-10ish minutes until it's completely stuck down on the tooth.

'Tis wonderful not to have numbing stuff in mah mouth.

I think i have the dentist next week

I will more than likely be booked in for a filling, and that will be the last of that lot of treatment.

I am going to ask for a quote on how much braces will be, probably a fortune, but if it will fix it, i dont mind.
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:26:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
Heather ~ Yes....and no. Haven't you ever had dental work done?

Die ~ They do it that way at my dentist's, too, but they still numb and drill.

Lizzy ~ Ack. Good luck. *nods*

A lady at work paid £1500 for her bottom teeth to be sorted out with braces, so i am thinking that ballpark figure, which will suck, and loads of people have told me they hurt, but ill be thinking of the end results.

They are not crazy bad, i just hate how my canines stick out, and my front ones are starting to turn inwards as my wisdom teeth are getting bigger.

I'll double check on Tuesday when the app. is.

I just realised I totally missed my 50K thing
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:30:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
Are they really that bad?
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:31:47 PM EST (GMT-5)
twise ~ Really? Even though the laser doesn't hurt anyways?
That's odd.
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:32:14 PM EST (GMT-5)
Probably not to other people, but They are bad to be

So more than likely me just being stupid about them, but i am going to ask for a quote and go from there.
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:33:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
I have a 3-5 page research paper to do and I'm dreading it, and reading this makes me feel guilty for that. lol. But to be fair, I haven't written a paper in a few semesters.

I need braces myself, but apparently I'm "too old." I don't understand how one can be too old for braces, but... I still want them. I hope they don't want to give me headgear or anything. Yeah right, I'm fine with crooked teeth in that case. They don't even look crooked in the first place.
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:43:48 PM EST (GMT-5)
Die ~ They do it for the drilling.

Lizzy ~ Hey, if you want to, go for it. They can do a lot with things like that now.

Halz ~ What's it going to be on?
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:46:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
I want ice-cream, to help my tummy (and my throat too really). Big ole meanie poop Mike!
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:46:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
Oh, duh! *facepalm*
Wasn't thinkin' there.
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:46:35 PM EST (GMT-5)
I am weird, I actually like the dentist. I like the fresh minty smells. I love the way my mouth feels so clean and fresh when I am done.

Blue, my sister is 50 and she has braces, you are never too old.
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:48:47 PM EST (GMT-5)
Die ~ *lol* S'alright.

Shutter ~ *nods* I like the results from a cleaning, so that's not so bad. Tho my teeth are really tight together so she always saws nice and hard with the floss.

My ex's father got braces at 65.
12 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 5/3/09 - 4:55:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
I have that problem, my teeth are really close together, that i have trouble flossing some of them.

Only they never used to be like that.

Mine are getting closer as I get older, too.
Especially my front teeth. It's from my mom's side.
