It's pouring right now and as soon as I got into work, the sky went all black and it looks like it's nighttime. I LOVE it!

I got my period, my stomach is all bloated and I have cramps. JOY. I swear if I ever get pregnant I am going to LOVE not having my period for 9 months! I heard something about tampons causing cancer because of the bleach they use in them, so I'm now afraid to use them. But I hate NOT using them, they're so comfy and awesome. What to do, what to do. There are no unbleached ones available here.

My brother and wife want to both get an "M" (for their daughter's name Miranda) tattooed in a weird and/or ancient alphabet. Got ANy suggestions?

TAAAAAAAAHHHH!!

I have my period too. It JUST showed up half an hour ago. Six days late. .

Don't worry, the tampon / cancer link is a really low chance. Do you really want to wear pads? I hate the feeling of heaving blood flow sqwershing out.

Mine was 4 days late!

I know. I HATE wearing pads. Hate, hate, HATE. But I fear cancer. A lot.

Very, very loosly means "true to his own spirit"

Can you not get that nifty Instead softcup thing there, or does just the thought of using it kind of squick you out?

I'd hate black clouds. And I know somewhere in that hemisphere there were hurricanes brewing.(My geography sucks a LOT) Be careful, anyway, but especially if it gets super windy, k?

I think it'd be adorable if they had her write the M(if she can, but she's likely a wee one), and then have tattoo artist recreate it.

Oh. I like that.

Innosins.. you know, I haven't seen that around here. Don't think we have it. It sounds a bit gross, but I would use it if it were available!

hehe.. don't worry. No hurricanes where I live. We did get some hail today, though!

That's be really cute! She's 4, so she can write it. I am going to suggest that idea, it's a good one! Thanks!

A friend of mine years ago that was a "dancer" told me about them. I like them because it cuts down on the down time, so to speak, we'd had before during my period. They're a little expensive, but worth it for occasional use, at least, imo.
Softcup site
That page is quiet, but homepage started up a video.

(oh, but that "he won't feel it's there" was written by an unfortunate/unknowing woman) he says it's noticeable, but not enough to stop

I saw Instead at walmart. I'd most likely have a bitch of a time inserting that thing. You can't see anything, and I'd be concerned about in not being completely upright, thus shifting and spilling if I moved weird.

I bet they sell 'organic' tampons. Maybe.

I LOVE skies like that, btw.

I'm squicking!! Seems like it would be such a mess, no?

*YOU PROBABLY DON'T WANT TO READ THIS*

*SERIOUSLY*

That's why it's for occasional use, imo. Like first day/ last couple of days.

It fits right behind pubic bone, right over cervix. It takes a time or two to get it right, at first, just like tampons or a diaphragm. You can tell if it's wrong. And probably still want a pantiliner unless you only use it in the situations I (mostly) do.

Even if you're comfortable with your body, having kids, and the week or so after, makes you much, much more comfortable. Trying not to get too icky. Think I failed.
Sorry.

Curious... I think I am pretty comfortable with my body and don't get all squirmy about periods like some people... but I don't really think I can handle the cup thing. Cleaning it and stuff.... ughhh.....

I still don't really see the big advantages of using it, though. Is it that much safer?
12 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 10/21/08 - 10:40:07 AM EST (GMT-5)
Safer? I'm not sure actually what the stats are tampons/pads/cup. safety's not the main reason i sometimes use it.

this is from the FAQ, though

Is the INSTEAD® Softcup® safe?

The INSTEAD® Softcup® has had extensive toxicology, biocompatibility and microbiological laboratory testing. It has also undergone human clinical testing and has been used by thousands of women since it went on the market in 1996. All results support the safety of the INSTEAD® Softcup® when used as directed. The cup is compatible with a woman's internal tissues, does not promote infection, and is not likely to cause an allergic reaction. The INSTEAD® Softcup® is made of a blend of polyethylene and synthetic plastics. There is No LATEX. If you are allergic to latex, the INSTEAD® Softcup® should not cause any latex allergic reaction. The INSTEAD® Softcup® does not leave fibers behind in your body.

Gosh, sorry, peg. I'm usually not a mini-hijacker. and I swear i don't work for them.

Going to watch tivoed Stephen now.

How about those M's and skies, anyone that's actually still reading?
12 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 10/21/08 - 10:47:04 AM EST (GMT-5)
Me sorry too! So how about them skies?
12 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 10/21/08 - 11:58:16 AM EST (GMT-5)
lol! Don't worry, you two. I don't mind at all!

Skies are still black And it's still pouring rain. I love it.

I have cramps and I hate not using tampons at work.. It's so uncomfy! Meh.

One of the bosses got mad because he asked for something, and then the phone rang, and I picked up the phone first, because he's EXTREMELY NEUROTIC about me having to pick up the phone THE MOMENT it rings. Then he was mad I didn't do his thing first. So I was like "but if I hadn't picked up the phone you would have been mad, too. which should I do first in these cases?"

"just do what you feel you should do"

GREAT THANKS.
