Today we went out to lunch with the bosses. It was a fancy place, and I had delicious food. The best part was the dessert: there was meringue, white chocolate mousse, scrumptious red berries and berry sauce. It was.. perfect. I never wanted to stop eating it.

I left work early and was able to go to the institute to pick up my certificate for my Veterinary Technician course. It looks like this:

(only with my name on it)

I was able to do laundry tonight for the first time in like a month! Plumbers seem to be done..at least for now. I like my new kitchen floor. It's a very light grey..almost whitish.

I am in a "bleh" mood, however..

GHEY!

What should I make for dinnah?

Macandcheese.

I would if I had any. I had a really nice recipe that I got from a magazine and I left it on the counter before I left for work today and now it's GONE. I don't know what the stupid plumbers did with it. I need it.

*siiigh* I LOVE American mac and cheese. It's SO good. We don't have it here. They try to copy it, but it comes out horribly tasteless.

I love the song "Let the river run" from Working Girl. It's so happy.

You can make it if you have cheese and noodles.

I know, but I like the wonderful synthetic taste of the boxed stuff. Haha.

13 yrs ago - Friday 9/5/08 - 9:17:18 PM EST (GMT-5)
I had mac n cheese for dinner!
It was not so great because I didn't notice a residue on the pot so it kinda tasted like soap
13 yrs ago - Friday 9/5/08 - 9:20:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
Aw, man! That's awful! ewugh. I'm always so paranoid about residue of any kind of my pots and pans and things. ewewewew

do you think your Customs would let me ship you some kraft?

Pegasus, there are a few ways I make it.

I ran out of flour one time but had this biscuit mix that you just add water to so I used that and liked it better.

Boil 1 lb of macaroni

in a 9 x 13 pan, add a layer of the boiled mac, then a dusting of flour (or in my case the instant biscuits), then a layer of cheddar cheese, repeat once

then fill pan with water until you can see rise, not all the way to the top.

bake at 350 until brown on top.

and BAM! the best damn macaroni and cheese ever.

That's how my mom makes hers.
I like how it's kind of crispy on top and on the edges.

I always try to be nice to people from other nations because when they visit us and have a bad experience, they tel 20 people back home

and if they have a wonderful experience they tel maybe 5 people back home.

Which is why I don't get when people are rude/nasty to tourists

I met a group of germans who wanted to send post cards home, and didn't know how much postage they'd need.

So I offered to look it up for them on my iPhone.

(it's 94 cents to other nations)

:D

I hope they went home and said "I met this woman in the states who took time out of her day to help me!"
cuz it makes eveyone else look more polite and
13 yrs ago - Friday 9/5/08 - 9:50:49 PM EST (GMT-5)
Hah! That's true!

A lot of people here believe that Americans/Brits are "cold" and impersonal. Most of these people have never talked to, let alone MET an American/Brit. I have several American/British friends and I all of them are so incredibly giving, generous and sweet. When I went to live in MN I had no idea what kind of people I was going to meet.. and I was overwhelmed with their awesomeness. I miss them so much.

People are afraid of people who are "different". Just because they are different doesn't mean they don't have a soul! Grah!

That was sweet of you to look that up for the Germans
