How do I holiday? - Mood:Good
Monday November 13 201711:25:41 AM |
I'm considedring using my inheritance money to go abroad but I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm the only person (excluding babies) in my family that has never been out of the country before.

My grandad left me a bit of money (not much but enough to pay for a holiday) and a holiday abroad is one of the options I am weighing up. The problem is I don't really know what things I need to consider for going abroard.

I'm specifically thinking of Scandanavia/Nordic countries, to see the Northern Lights. I'm not a fan of melting so those hot places in Europe don't interest me much.

One of my friends is half Icelandic and her dad runs a B&B in Rekjavic so that is an option if I need to cut costs but long weekends are pretty cheap up there anyway.

So yeah, what things do I need to consider before going abroard?

The week from hell - Mood:Depressed
Monday October 02 20171:23:23 PM |
The last week has been relentless. My grandad has been back in hospital with yet another lung/chest infection. This time they said his kidneys were failing. In the state he appeared to be in we were all preparing for the worst. He had some scans and it turned out his kidneys were just dry because he isn't eating or drinking and the doctor read us the wrong notes.

He's still not great but should be fine at least for a little longer. He's still hospital but he's on a ward and is just there for obs at this point.

Then I got a letter from hmrc saying they overpayed us tax credits by over 1100 so we have to pay that back, which we absolutely can nowhere near afford.

Then I just got a call from my mum saying she has a lump on her breast and has to have all the tests done at some point. I can't even remember the conversation now.

It would be nice to have a good day sometimes.
