War Photographer In his darkroom he is finally alone with spools of suffering set out in ordered rows. The only light is red and softly glows, as though this were a church and he a priest preparing to intone a Mass. Belfast. Beirut. Phnom Penh. All flesh is grass. He has a job to do. Solutions slop in trays beneath his hands which did not tremble then though seem to now. Rural England. Home again to ordinary pain which simple weather can dispel, to fields which don't explode beneath the feet of running children in a nightmare heat. Something is happening. A stranger's features faintly start to twist before his eyes a half-formed ghost. He remembers the cries of this man's wife, how he sought approval without words to do what someone must and how blood stained into foreign dust.

So the story is, 2 guys asked me out. Both of them live ages away and I can't decide who I like best! It would be so easy to 2 time but I just couldn't do that. I'd make a decision to go out with Jon and he said he'd call me about half an hour from now. But last night, I was at the festival fireworks and there were some awesome heart shaped ones. And when the heart shaped ones were going off, Daniel called me saying how much he missed me. Now I'm not normally into this kinda thing, but isn't that a pretty big sign? I have to choose in half an hour before Jon calls and I really don't know what to do...

These foster kids are making my life a living hell. We've had them for 2 and a half weeks now and we have treated them like part of the family. We have been nice to them, given them meals, taken them places and all they can fu*king do is beat up my dad! They keep saying "ay Katharine, we're gonna be good ay Katharine. We're not gonna kick anyone or punch anyone ay." So why the fu*k is it that every night, they act up and don't listen to us? Why do they draw all over our kitchen and pull up the fu*king carpet?!! Every single fu*king night they have to go on the naughty step which is just 20 minutes of them getting up and kicking and punching my dad and I have to stand and watch it incase they make alligations. It just breaks my heart. They've broken my dad's glasses and his watch and basically ruined my summer holidays. ctnd.

So has anyone heard of the Edinburgh Fringe festival? Well you should have! Today it was all kicked off by the cavalcade. My youth group leader is a chemist and he asked me and some of my mates to be in the parade, and carry giant molecules. I was ethonol God I hate that pic. Some of them were really big and they were so heavy! When a horn went we had to yell 'absolute zero' and stop dead. Then we yelled 'getting warmer' and started running about at which point half of them broke. The guys with the salt molecues were drinking gin out of test tubes. They were awesome! We had the weirdest molecules including heart disease drug, heart slowing drug, oil, chocolate, cholesterol, fatty acid, tartan dye, and irn bru. It was just mad!

My dad likes taking things appart to see how they work and trying to fix things etc. So last night, there was a bubble in the mercury of a thermometer. So my dad tries to get the bubble out by holding over a lighter! I told him it wasn't a good idea but would he listen? So the next thing I know theres this really loud bang and I have shards of glass and a big blob of mercury flying towards me! The glass didn't cut me thank goodness but my mum rushed me down to the doctors to see if I had mercury poisoning! Its too early to tell and it was such a small amount that hit my face, but I have to go back next week for another checkup. Funfun So how is YT?

The song we sing is by Karine Polwart (whos website it is) who is a famous folk singer. We sang her song down the phone to her! It was so awesome!

We are fostering 2 brotehrs aged 4 and 5 for a couple of weeks. We also look after a little 3 year old girl at weekends and we are trying to potty train her. So this morning, we were all outside and the wee girl said "I need toilet" so I asked " do you need a peepee?" Then Luke, aged 4 said "girls don't have pees" I said " yes they do!" He said "no they don't, they don't have peepees. They don't have willys!" I was laughing so bad and they kept asking why it was funny.

Some of you might know that we look after a little 3 year old girl who used to live in hospital, every second weekend. Some other people might know that we are going to be getting 2 brothers, 4 and 5, while their foster parents are on holiday. Nah ah!!! They are here now AND we have the little girl! A big change of plan means that we have 3 kids under 5 in our house. And a 12 year old who acts like a 3 year old (my brother). This has to be THE most stressfull couple of days in my life! Holly goes home tomorrow then we have the boys for another 3 weeks. This is going to be hell.

I did it! I climbed Ben Nevis AND got back down! The view was sooo awesome and it was a gorgeous day. THE GAY CAMERA BROKE!!!!! So no pics I had a dream last night and my mate David and Frazikin were at my house. Then I found a note to David from Fraz saying I didn't have a life because I had so many books. Then she listed every single one!! So I confornted her about it and she went all nice and sweet saying she didn't mean it, then she ran after an ice cream van. Wierd

So tomorrow we are going camping for ten days up the west coast of Scotland. So basically I will be spending 10 days sitting in a tent, bored out of my skull, being attacked by midges. How can anyone find that fun?!! At least I have an essay to keep me entertained. A kid threw up on the bus today and it stank to high heavan because of the heat. Then it started running everywhere and everyone flocked downstairs. Not nice.

Got back from my music course yesterday morning. I have lost my voice from yelling to rock music half of Friday night so my throat hurts like hell. Then I crashed out on a sofa and a Glasweigain dickhead started slamming the door into my feet which were dangling over the arm of the sofa. I can't fu*king walk now thanks to that non-nice individual. But I had such an awesome time and saw so many people I haven't seen in ages which kinda makes up for it. We did this song in song class, called Follow The Heron Home by this really famous folk singer Karine Polwart. One of the organisers is a manager at her record label and he called her and we sang it down the phone to her. She loved it and asked us to record it so she could put it on her website which was just amazing! And this talent scout came to the concert and wants to look into a record deal for my mixed instrument group. Ah life is good appart from the agony in my ankles!

I am leaving for Luxembourg on Friday and all this week I'm playing at concerts and going to prize givings and stuff.
