All right. So there's a summer academic college-esque program that I really, really want to attend, but alas, that requires typing and fitting my academic aspirations into a 5 X 7 box. It also requires parents who will tell you about the bloody program packet they received 3 months ago a little earlier than 2 days before the forms are due, but that's not important right now. What I'm getting at here is that I'm entirely new to and unsure of what these college people are looking for in an essay. I'm all right in the department of addressing what I hope to gain and contribute, but I'm hoping the scholarly members of YT can give me some advice and tips. Should I write it formally? Casually? Humorously? Thankee much!

(Why am I in such an odd mood today? ) His hands carved poetry into the canvas And paint dripped from his mind. With a human touch he cemented words unspoken And captured a light unseen before now. I watched as he worked And erased more than he drew Tentative genius sculpting unfinished forms, And I knew what it was like to see through his mind. A flick of the wrist spoke more than I could in a lifetime. ................ She was a projection on the screen. A flurry of black and white imperfections flickering in and out of existence, moving with static, traced in speckles of dust. She was the voice on an old record. The crackling smoothness bumping, dancing over the needle, spinning, spilling her story. She was the fading smile on a photograph. That expression which never quivered, but dimmed with each layer of dust.

Urgh. When are people going to get it through their heads that certain things are just inappropriate for April Fool's Day jokes? We had a Holocaust memorial service at school today, and some ha-larious prankster thought it'd be awfully clever to pull the fire alarm in the middle of it. On the plus side, I did get to put up my "With hygiene, comes RESPECT," posters all over school. I'd put a picture, but I'm on the wrong computer.
