For me, no. I have always identified as a girl. I don't think it would have mattered if everyone was dressed and acted the same. But I do have friends that say they would have been the opposite gender if had the choice.

I was not raised gender neutral so I have no clue what it would change if anything

you might have always identified as a girl, but you were also always raised as a girl
what came first?
probably being treated as a girl considering we aren’t even really self aware for however many years

I think sex differentiation is determined by hormones and androgenic factors before birth. But social conditioning can have a large influence.

I'd look down my pants and act accordingly to that and it's implied social norms

Although in a gender neutral society there wouldn’t be any generalized based social norms implied.

I mean if I were raised in a different society I’d be a different person. If the society were truly gender neutral there would be no gender and so I’d necessarily identify as nongendsred.

Isn’t this kind of like asking if the sky looked red would you still call it blue?

My nephew and his wife tried raising their daughter gender neutral..

it worked until she was about 4, then she started wanting to dress up as a princess and wear pretty dresses, instead of shorts and pants..

but she's still a real tomboy...

so is she a girl, or a boy, or a mixture? or maybe just herself..

What even - is - gender neutral, in terms of gender expression? It's debatable. Personally, I don't even have a concept of...raising an individual as "gender neutral" because so many things are gendered and in different ways. A lot of times, when people try to go for "neutral", it looks masculine...but a masculinity that's "acceptable" for people of any sex. It's not truly neutral.

I think we shouldn't confine kids to gender stereotypes but it's also fine if people match a stereotype. Most of us will match in some ways, not in others.
If "gender neutral" means being neither too masculine not too feminine in every way, I bet I'd feel confined being raised in that environment.

Sometimes I'm more in the middle but in some ways I'm really feminine or really masculine (which I think is normal).

I don't think it would change my identity but it could have affected the expression of my identity, could have affected how I felt about it, other stuff like that.

Another thing related to the first part of what I was saying: gender expression is a weird thing that changes across culture and time.

Articles of clothing, etc will always be considered masculine or feminine - but the kind being placed in either category isn't a stable concept, nor is what counts as neutral.

But I think the concept of having genders (and the -majority- of humanity identifying as one of two and having ideas about what that means, though the ideas might change) is a stable thing.

This is one of those questions that has an objectively correct answer. Also unknowable. Since I identify as bigender, though, I think it probably wouldn't change much.

It's kind of impossible to answer.

I think society needs broader gender definition.

If society were gender neutral we would probably not have the same gender divides...right?
Like when little everyone could be children then adults.
There may be separate restrooms for those who prefer to stand or those who prefer to sit but they wouldn't be labeled men or women because that's gendered.

I just re-read the question. Nvm. I don't think one can escape gendered bias no matter how strictly one tries to adhere to gender neutral raising of children.

I was raised as a girl, but not limited to having to only do girly things.
I still identify that way.
But honestly if tomorrow I was told "there are too many women, you're a man now" I'd be like "okay"
It's not something I've considered for myself but wouldn't be opposed to it.
I really don't care about it one way or the other.

Maybe being raised gender neutral would have made me care more one way or another?

I feel like i wrote a lot and didn't answer the question.

My exact answer would be probably not.
