I think I am.
But does it count as non-cisgendered if I really, really wish I had a dick?

It's got a definition and you either fit that definition or you don't. I don't use the word homo sapien to refer to myself either but if the question read "Are you a homo sapien" I'd just say "yes" and not "not really the word I use."

Nah, I'm good with my answer. Thanks, though.

I think it's a bit different as an academic/demographic term vs. the terms individuals use to describe their identity. There’s often an emphasis on self-selection of terms, with gender identity in particular nowadays. I’m sure some would consider it inappropriate to insist that a gender minority use the term ‘trans’ if they were perceived to fit the technical definition, but didn’t personally identify with it.

Personally, I don’t care much what I’m called as far as neutral descriptors go, but I don't consider my gender to be a salient part of my identity. Same with my nationality and (lack of) religious beliefs; I don’t tend to think about myself on those dimensions, so I don’t find any representation/affirmation in the labels. I’ll tick boxes on a form for them where the definitions are appropriate, though.
I'm sure part of that is that I'm fortunate enough to not experience personal or social conflict with respect to those things. I'm also sympathetic to ‘cisgender’ being used to avoid the connotations of 'normal' (albeit whether it actually helps is another matter).

Personally, I think gender is overrated. I am a heterosexual male that does not fit the mold. It does not mean I want to be a girl, wear a dress, or switch my identity. Last time I checked, I was not Jello. Ergo, do I need a mold??? No. Do we??? No.

If you are a man who does not fit the mold, that means that you don't conform to gender stereotypes. You are correct that we don't need anyone to fit a mold. The idea that one is trans because they don't fit a gender role or stereotype is false.
Most people aren't "switching" identities. It's a question of asserting or not asserting the identity.
It's not so much like "I was X and now I want to be Y". The whole issue and point of being trans is that you never sense that you're the gender you were assigned, you never feel comfortable with it. It's more like "I internally perceive that I am Y and I want people to recognize me as Y".
(also, pretty sure i'm speaking to someones alter right now. hello)

And I disagree. Trans is switching.
I don't wear dresses and have never worn one.
But, if a man wants to wear a dress, then let him wear a dress. It does not mean he wants to be a woman so much as it means he likes dresses.
The trans male or female is switching who they are, and, furthermore, I would say that the transvestite is more honest than a transgender. They like what they like sans switching
