Yes! I adore bats. I routinely see one fly by my house and I like to sit & watch it go about.

I'm always glad to see them flying around at dusk in summer because they eat mosquitoes.

I've met my mother in law. Does that count?
But really: lots. Even had one fly into my classroom once.

I think I'd get a little freaked out if one was flying around indoors.

Had one in the barn a few months ago. The boys managed to smack it out of the air and into the wall.

A small bat flew in my open window while I was watching Leslie Nielsen's vampire movie. That was really 3D.
I tried to catch it without harming it (its sonar couldnt help it find its way out), but ended up wrecking my house in the process.
Only when the poor thing was totally exhaused I could pick it up and set it free.
It was cute

I've seen them flying by a couple times but never been face to face with one.
My husband and I were doing some lake camping several years ago and he would up catching a bat with his fishing pole. He had cast at the exact moment a bat was flying by and the poor thing got all tangled up.

Not in like maybe a decade, they're not really common around here anymore.

Many times. Or were you not referring to baseball bats?

A few times.
I'd like to build/buy a bat house and have one live here. As emitchell said, they eat mosquitoes.

Yes, and it was terrifying. I wanted to kill it with fire, and then I remembered I'm an animal rights activist.

Yeah I've seen a few different types, flying around at night time.
We get fruit bats/flying foxes landing in our backyard in summer time to eat all the plums.
