Several people. Mostly relatives.

Maybe. I'm still figuring that out.
7 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Sunday 12/9/12 - 2:38:50 AM EST (GMT-5)
No. It only hurts yourself to hold grudges. I have problem relatives too, but as far as I'm concerned, it's on them. I no longer care to let them ruin a minute of my life.

Holding grudges is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

Actually I have totally cut a few people out of my life, after enough betrayal or serious assholiness one has to cut that person out totally or be a fool again. Betrayal is something I don't easily forgive, after several incidents with no repentance.

To forgive them would to trust them or to think of them as not responsible for their actions, to belittle them in some sense. Only when I am convinced they have changed.

If I find myself feeling unforgiveness towards anyone, I make a concious decision to forgive them. I think even if you still feel hurt/anger about someone's actions, it's so important not to hold unforgiveness in your heart. It's like a disease.
7 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Sunday 12/9/12 - 3:43:14 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't dwell on them very much. I give them a mental death sentence, and get to the point where I don't think of them, see them, speak of them or care about them. To me they are beyond dead, they don't exist in my world or life being rotten people. But for my own safety I don't forgive them.

If these people would make a really heartfelt apology and turn their lives around so they didn't continue doing things that lead us to not have a friendship anymore than maybe. But where it stands now, there are 4 people I cannot stand and hope I never see again. Having said that I think about them all often and do hope they do well and get help.

This is very very true. I find it easy to forgive and forget. It's too much trouble to hold grudges and hatred against others. It makes me feel sick. Just forgive and move on. And feel better. It really is that simple.

I try to forgive. It's not healthy to hold grudges. I wish more people took that stance in life, but it's probably not going to happen.

Yes, 3 people, I won't say who. But one cost me a good portion of my sanity and desire to survive, one cost me one of the best relationships I ever had and one cost me both my right hand and another good portion of my sanity.

Time heals woes.
My grudge will burn out in the end
7 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Tuesday 9/24/13 - 11:08:11 PM EST (GMT-5)
If I can forgive my ex-husband, I can forgive ANYONE!
7 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Tuesday 9/24/13 - 11:16:09 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes there are a couple... one much more so than the others. He would always pretend to offer "help" to me, claiming I needed to "get out more" only as a trick to embarrass me or humiliate me.

I'd consider forgiving him if he'd actually take responsibility for his issues, but I know he won't.

There are a couple of others that have slighted me and betrayed me in the past... that's how Tricball was born. I don't hold a strong grudge against the "lady" who did that to me, but I do not value her opinions as much as I would if she had not done that to me.
7 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Wednesday 9/25/13 - 12:17:36 AM EST (GMT-5)
I rather think it depends on what you mean by the term "forgive".

There are several that I seldom think about and don't bother hating, but forgive? Depends on your definition.
7 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Wednesday 9/25/13 - 2:48:42 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes

Yeah.
6 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 11/28/13 - 2:22:17 PM EST (GMT-5)
i saw some stuff about a holocaust survivor actually forgiving the nazis, so it is doable.
6 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Friday 11/29/13 - 11:28:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes. I should try harder to forgive, but at the same time I don't think this person deserves forgiveness.
