I usually say it so fast that it comes out like dab-lo. sometimes d'yab-lo.
I know it's supposed to be dee-ahb-lo, but there are so many things named Diablo This and Mt Diablo That where I grew up and so many white people saying "DYE-AB-LO" that it was hard enough to transition into "DEE-ab-lo."

Well, in English, "diabolic" would be pronounced "DYE..." but other than that little temptation, I really can't go against "DEE."

I wouldn't say it's necessarily 'supposed to be' anything - it just depends on how people in your community say it. Is Paris 'supposed to be' pronounced like a French word?

I live in California, with a large Hispanic population.
The Spanish pronunciation is Dee-ah-blo (it means devil in Spanish). This is the pronunciation that I use.

I guess not, but I live right next to Mt. Diablo, and everything around here is named after spanish words (Diablo Vista, Monte Vista, Vista Grande, Camino Tassajara, etc). It just feels wrong to say stuff totally off from the Spanish pronunciation.
Where my dad grew up, there was a church called St. Joaquim. There were no hispanic people in the neighborhood (back then), and everybody called it St. Jokum. hahaha...terrible.

Only if you're using the French word 'Paris'. If you're using the English word, say it in English. I don't know about the game or the mountain, but if you're using the Spanish word for 'devil', you should say it in Spanish.

Well that's kinda vague...
"Diablo" is the Spanish word for "devil," but it's also the name of a mountain in California. Am I supposed to say "diablo" in spanish or english?

Like I said, I don't know in the case of the mountain because I don't know what the person who named the mountain intended. Are they naming it for the Spanish word or are they creating a new English word? It's up to them how the name of the thing they're naming is pronounced.

From Wiki:
The conventional view is that the peak derives its name from the 1805 escape of several Chupcan Native Americans from the Spanish in a nearby willow thicket. The natives seemed to disappear, and the Spanish soldiers thus gave the area the name "Monte del Diablo", meaning "thicket of the devil." Monte was later misinterpreted by English speakers as mount or mountain…
One attribute that makes the name Mount Diablo appropriate is that the mountain glows red at sunset.

I'm not actually sure what I say, if I look at the word I tend to say dyablo, if I just say it I think I say deeablo.
As a child I mistook one of the other peaks to be a part of Mt. Diablo and the devil's horns. Perhaps I was even told that was why it was named Diablo.
We used to drive by it pretty often, but my favorite was a place on AlCosta Blvd. It had a fancy enterance with a big arch over it, that proclaimed itself in fancy schmancy iron work "Rancho AlCosta Plenty" and I'm sure it did.

Maybe not, but in this case, he is the one who has it wrong.
