When ants see the kid with a magnifying glass coming towards their nest on a clear summer's day, they probably think he has a plan too.

Are you telling me that kid doesn't have a plan?
I'm glad IRLI finally blew your cover on this. It isn't a magic lamp, the Genie doesn't jump to fulfill your wishes. What relationship with a deity would work like that?
I don't think God hates anyone. He loves everyone so he gave them a choice. And some people choose to not love God, and so God sets them free to live in a place of their own creation. Turns out people aren't so hot at ex nihlo creation, though.

People are talking so extreme on this. Bella, please stop quoting the bible, you're offending people. I'm a christian and here is what I think:
1. God created people and people created religion.
2. Aithiests have morals, a few of their morals just happened to contradict other religions.
3. God gave people choices, some people just made really bad choices or terrible choices.
4. He doesn't hate anyone, he most likely only hates the actions of some people.
I believe a lot of things in the bible, but there are a few things I don't exactly agree with, but that's religion and I think it's faith that truly matters.

As I used to say when I played Lemmings! "When life hands you a lemming, make lemming-aide." (particularly in those crusher over a pool of water screens)

I agree:
faith >>>>> religion.
But this statement - no.

What is a moral? How do you define this word in a way that allows an atheist to have them?

Haha, the first lemmings game was revolutionary! Everybody thought "How can you get so much personality into only eight pixels?"*
*Specifications may vary. I had the Amiga version.

A great idea (judge not lest you be judged by the same measure - think I heard that somewhere before). But it doesn't really rise to the level of defining morality to me. But that's the rub, isn't it? If we define words in a certain way, then we can just use them as we like.

Well, as far back as Euthyphro, the idea of Universal prescriptivism was around - and even now, theists still talk about different solutions to Euthyphro's dilemma. So it's not changing the definition to anything new, by any means.

Can we agree then, that to be moral, one must consistently follow an unchanging code of behavior?
