With the popularity of sites such as Facebook, is there much point any more to having high school reunions?

Good question. I really have no interest in either of those (Facebook or class reunions) but I would think that for those who are interested, the reunion would be a great way to actually get back together and visit with those folks. Also, there's got to be some that you haven't kept up with that you'll run into at a reunion.

Yes, to actually see people. I want to see my old classmates, but I have a fear that they will not remember me/purposely avoid inviting me.

Although its nice to see pictures of the people who made your life in school hell become bored, fat and unfulfilled as your own life seems to go from strength to strength- it's always better to see it in the flesh, especially if there's 600lbs of it!!

Yes. Not everyone has Facebook or the internet. A lot of people seem to not realize that.
And there is a difference between real life and internet.

Yes there is. At reunions, people dont have fake pictures most of the time!

Ofcourse it is. I think it's more important to see people I once knew and spent loads of time with in person rather than online.

I don't think there is much argument as to whether looking at somebody's profile matches up to talking and enjoying their presence in person. So yes, high school reuniions should still exist.
