Last month, the BBC came under fire for inviting members of the British National Party to the popular current events television program Question Time, resulting in the reversal of the Labour Party's long standing rule of never sharing a platform with the far right.
The BBC defended its actions, citing that if the far right had a platform then it would open space for debate and that BBC had to be politically impartial.
