A year of joy is better than ten years of sorrow.
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Sunday 8/1/04 - 6:29:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
Amen, DP. I rather live a short, contented life than a long, miserable one.
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Sunday 8/1/04 - 6:33:40 PM EST (GMT-5)
Beauman said it!
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Monday 8/2/04 - 12:57:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'd take short and happy anyday over extended and miserable..
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/20/04 - 3:05:34 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, it certainly is not.
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/20/04 - 3:39:32 AM EST (GMT-5)
No. I'd rather live 40 years of great, fulfilling life than 100 years of shallowness.
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Friday 8/20/04 - 3:41:27 AM EST (GMT-5)
Seems the ideal thing here would be to live a long, happy and fulfilled life.
15 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Friday 10/1/04 - 2:48:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
no quality is more important
15 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 11/21/04 - 2:55:31 PM EST (GMT-5)
Quality of life is very important.
15 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Monday 1/3/05 - 10:45:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
what's the point of living a long life if you can't do the things you love to do?
15 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Monday 1/3/05 - 10:46:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
quality beats quantity
15 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 1/10/05 - 6:07:31 AM EST (GMT-5)
It is definetly better to enjoy a sohrt life than to be miserable in a long life!
15 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Wednesday 2/2/05 - 9:18:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
however, society tells us differently by adopting new medicine to secure a longer life, it is those quality days that leed us to desire quantity
15 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Wednesday 2/2/05 - 9:23:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
Absolutely not.

Who wants to live to be 100, if your last 20 years are spent in senility?

15 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 2/5/05 - 7:06:01 AM EST (GMT-5)
in my experience, senility seems to be harder on everyone else than the person who's actually senile.

key word there being "seems" i guess.

15 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 2/5/05 - 7:07:35 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, that's why I recently had a conservatory built onto the back of my life.
15 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 2/5/05 - 7:09:27 AM EST (GMT-5)
In some ways yes, in some ways no. I'd rather be tortured and live than killed. On the other hand, I'd rather my life not be prolonged for ten years by machines and heroic medical efforts.
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 3/6/05 - 10:55:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
^I dunno, i'd personally rather die and not be tortured... but i'm a wuss. I'm with you on the medical machines thing (see my diatribe on "does medicine REALLY improve life?")
I'm gonna say no. life is nothing without friends and/or someone to love. Looking back on 100 years of that would be horrifying at best. Conversely, looking back over a month spent with old friends and those relatives just crazy enough to be fun could be the greatest memoir of all.
15 yrs ago - Thursday 3/24/05 - 9:49:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
quality is always better
15 yrs ago - Thursday 3/24/05 - 10:28:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
Quality is all important, give me ten good years rather than twenty bad years.
14 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Thursday 4/21/05 - 8:30:09 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'd rather live a good life than I long one.
14 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Sunday 5/29/05 - 2:08:08 AM EST (GMT-5)
Quality is subjective. Individual tolerance for pain or debilitation varies greatly and conjures different definitions of quality of life.
14 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Sunday 5/29/05 - 2:09:24 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, definately not.
13 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 8/26/06 - 4:09:04 PM EST (GMT-5)
Quality
13 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 8/26/06 - 7:19:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
