I loved being in the band, playing clarinet, marching around on the football field at halftime, marching and playing in parades, going to the big music festivals. I never thought the band was made up of geeks. Quite a few of the school's football and basketball players were in the band and would play with us except during their ballgames. I've been in a community band as an adult and I was glad I had the experience with something enjoyable that carries over into the rest of my life.

I knew alot of people in the band. i never thought they were geeks and truthfully, they were a nicer group of people than the popular cheerleaders and jocks.

I loved jazz, pep, concert, marching band. I was also in two honors badn symphonic, and jazz. I also did 3 community bands.

When I was in school, band wasn't considered a "geek" thing since a lot of athletes and cheerleaders played instruments.

I knew the band was for geeks because I was in it. But in the case of my school it wasn't geek in a good way, 95% of the band members were 'super-smart', arrogant, and socially inept. Blech.

I'm in orchestra. In my school, a lot of really cool people are in band. Sure, some are dumb, some are geeky. But most of the people in band are cool because they don't give a poo about having to wear dorky uniforms or what people think about them. They just do their music thing.
