If anything, in a world where prayers did anything, the thing would be cheapened.

maybe, who knows? you'll just have to keep tabs on whatever (or whoever) you're praying for and see if it improves.

Prayer only works psychologically, it has no outside effect on the world apart from a very weak placebo effect.
In short; it does jack s***

Here's what I don't get:
God has a plan. If it is God's will that your family member gets cancer at age 45 and dies, then he will make it happen. I mean, obviously, because he's God. That's his plan.
But then you're gonna pray to God that your family member makes a recovery and gets better. Why? You're asking God to go against his will? He's God. He's smarter than you. Who do you think you are, asking him and pleading with him to change his almighty plan?

It might improve the thing for the one who's praying and it probably improves the whole situation for the one who's praying. In a rather subjective way, that is.

The object of your prayer will always receive the energy, but if it's not in sync with the 'plan', it won't change anything.

Yeah, this is how telekinesis works, the energy your brain creates moves inanimate objects. Science innit.
Wait what.

Not unless you're praying for confidence or something.
