Yes, especially if they have blue or green eyes.

anybody can be racist on an individual level, but white people are the only ones whose racism has been institutionalized against other racial minorities

anyone is capable of being racist. we shouldn't condone racism based on who does it. i'd call out a white person for being racist just as much as i'd call out anyone else for being racist.

Everyone is racist. Note I did not say everyone can be racist, I said everyone IS racist.

what about them?
I just think the liberal ideals of colorblindness are more harmful than helpful and that the reduction of the very real systematic biases in favor of white people in our society to some vague idea of individual racism where someone calling you a honkey on the sidewalk (like that's a thing that's ever happened to anyone ever) is the extent of what racism is now.
when people act like that's actually what racism is, they just reveal that they've never actually had to deal with the reality of it. they may have heard of it as a theoretical concept but they have absolutely no experience with daily institutional oppression. and not only do they not know it, but they don't know that they don't know it.

In my personal experience, asians promote other asians blatantly and intentionally keep blacks and mexicans in lower positions more than whites ever would.
But as a white male, my opinion is wrong because I can never have any struggles in my life.

And what of the Ainu?

pretty much all minority groups will promote members of their own group prior to that of others. it's a pretty natural instinct in the face of hegemony by a majority group. this applies to a lot of things outside of race as well. people will look out for their own, but when "their own" are historically in power at the detriment of others, continue to be in power at the detriment of others, and have near-total control of the entire governmental and economic apparatus, then I think promoting that group is a problem.
but yeah I'm a white male so ignore all of the above

Race is a social construct, as is socialism.

the question was pretty obviously about America / the west and my answer is tailored to that, but yeah if a question about the Ainu comes up I'll be sure to mention them

That's true, but it's something that we can work past and we don't have to be stuck in the past.

yeah, sure, one day I hope that there's diversity everywhere rather than just bad neighborhoods. I don't think the answer on how to make that happen is to pretend it already did. people wanna just put on their race blinders and get mad about some made-up affirmative action that they think is holding them down

People who blame affirmative action are just lazy and wouldn't have had success in life.
I don't like affirmative action but I don't think it's kept me down.

Where?
You need to avoid blanket statements.
