Becuase all they can be is athletic supporters.

Not really... i mean, the most sports-savvy people seem to be x-players who are now too old to play, but know all about the game. Besides, people who don't play sports might not LIKE them, so they don't want to talk about them either.

Let's see, I know quiet a few people who can't play for sh*t, and just play the odd fun game once or twice a year....but know alot about sports.

And what cracks me up, is when they just played a funsie game, they are all of a sudden grand proffesionals on how it or everyone should of played and the ref? all good though.

Yes I do. I find they fall into two categories. Sport Commentators and Monday Experts.

well john madden is an idiot, but everyone seems to think he knows whats going on. lee corso never boxed, and he doesnt know jack about fighting. i think you need some experience in the game to comment on it, but the experience alone cant make you a good commentator

I really don't know that many people that talk about sports. Sports get on my nerves, so I tend to stay away from people that overly enjoy them.

No. Some ex players are pretty perceptive.
