I heard a rumor that the whole ecky ecky thing Is actually Latin for "look look look we now have a shrubbery!" only really mispronounced. I take latin, and the only thing I can distinguish is that Ecce does, in fact, mean look. I have yet to figure out the Latin word for shrubbery though.
