The Joker. V is driven politically more than emotionally.

V doesn't seem that insane. He's mostly the fantasy of the sort of people who romantically think a guy with a sword is better than a guy with a gun.

The joker is insane because he acts without clear motivation; simply for the purpose of acting. This is the essence of his character. V has a clear, planned, method and purpose.
(Perhaps ambiguous through the plot of the story, but it is quite clear in hindsight.)

The Joker winds hands-down in almost any fictional character crazy-off, but this is actually kind of a good standoff. V is a pathologically idealistic, Joker is pathologically amoral.

He's pretty batsh*t in the comic. The movie cut a lot of stuff up and made things shorter and longer for emphasis... But in the plodding pacing of the book... Dude was clearly off his nut. Not wrong, just f*ckin' obsessed and very eccentric. Plus there was no ninja bullsh*t in the book, so you didn't even have that for credibility as to him being this hyper disciplined dude.

I mean, torturing Evie was like... 10 minutes of the movie. It was the entire 2nd Act of the book pretty much.

He was f*cking nuts.

That being said, I think the joker is crazier, because he really has no motive other than to revel in the fun of what he's doing.

Joker, definently. In The Dark Knight, he was super psycho. I'm sure we've all seen that movie, though

I adore V :)

I don't actually think the Joker is crazy, at least not in TDK. He's emotionally scarred, but I don't think he's insane. The Joker's an anarchist and I honestly think 99% of what he did in that movie was just to shake the system up.

I love V. Joker not so much....

I don't think that V is insane at all.
