I think it'll be World War Three.

I'm not even the slightest bit afraid that he will become POTUS, in part b/c of how horrible I imagine it going if he were to be elected.

Half way between terrified and amused as f*ck.

All I've really heard about his politics is that he either wants Muslims out of the country or rounded up into camps. I don't know how much power the President of the USA actually has, but it's scary that that can be the basis for a marketing campaign.

That 'marketing campaign' is being run by the opposition. Trump isn't for putting Muslims into camps or for kicking them out of the country...

except trump never suggested that he'd do either. last time we put a specific group of people into camps, a democrat was in charge.

I'm not at all worried.

But that's because I plan to spend a Trump presidency hiding in a bunker.

Nothing fires up defense of Trump like some misquotes. Represent what he has said accurately and crickets.

Why don't you just go for it all the way and claim Lincoln for the modern Republican party, inquiz?

Isn't that the way it should be? If a candidate is being misquoted or his/her position misrepresented, shouldn't the record be set straight so that his positions can be evaluated fairly?

Of course! It's just that you missed something, as you are well aware:

Not sure what your actual point was then. Your comment sounded to me as if you were being critical of Inq's defense of Trump...

FDR made internment camps by executive order. we were at war then, i don't know how much public support there was for those camps at the time.

we're at war now with ISIS. trump said he wants a temporary ban on non-american muslims so he can fix the review process. if trump suggested internment camps, don't you think his poll numbers would tank? even if trump became POTUS and wanted internment camps for muslims, he'd be immediately blocked by the courts because of the first amendment.

My point is that you are completely fine w/ misquotes and misrepresentations of people you clearly don't support. You're a coward when it comes to actually standing for anything, though. You'll pretend you're some truth warrior now, and that Trump just happens to be the beneficiary, but you don't have the integrity to admit you support him or to call him on the things he does say.

inquiz, the Internment camps were very, very wrong at a time when the word "genocide" didn't even exist. Pointing out it was a Democratic President is a weak move, as it points fingers and deflects from the current proposals that remind people of those decisions, and it ignores that the MOs for the 2 major parties have changed a lot since the 1940s.

I don't support Trump.

I don't call him on the things he does say because his statements are so often misrepresented, it ends up being such a distraction and makes it difficult to discuss his actual ideas...
1 yr ago, 11 mos ago - Wednesday 12/16/15 - 8:04:32 PM EST (GMT-5)
...and I am not going to call Trump out for the things that the left is claiming him to say.

You have refused to acknowledge the very easy, very sensible leap from some of the things Trump says to Fascism.
1 yr ago, 11 mos ago - Wednesday 12/16/15 - 8:09:46 PM EST (GMT-5)
Probably because I don't see it as such a 'very easy, very sensible leap' from what he says to Fascism...

the chair of the DNC (debbie wasserman schultz) and hillary clinton should be behind bars because what they did was downright illegal. but trump says things that liberals don't like and all of a sudden he's getting compared to hitler.
