For those who may not know, a surrogate mother is one who gets someone else's embryo implanted into her uterus and carries it to term, then when the baby is born it is given to the parents.

Could you do this?
Would you be able to just give up the baby like that?
Did you know that Michigan doesn't enforce surrogacy agreements, meaning that the surrogate mother can just decide to keep the child and the parents are left with nothing and out a bunch of cash they spent taking care of the surrogate.

I don't think I could part with the baby without being severely emotionally damaged.

No. I'd be too attached.

FYI, surrogacy could also be using that mother's egg and having the father's sperm used for fertilization. That makes it even more difficult. A common case of this is a couple where the woman is unable to conceive but has a sister and they want the baby to at least have the woman's family blood.

Maybe.
I mean, I get what people are saying about growing attached, but you don't REALLY grow attached until you spend time with the baby.

I just wouldn't wanna be pregnant for someone else unless they were paying me A LOT

I disagree. I felt bonded with my baby before he joined the world.

And no. For that reason and because pregnancy is no picnic.

Well so did I, but if you grow a child for someone else, you aren't thinking about it the same way. Like, when you're planning a future with your child, you bond with him or her, but if you knew from the beginning it was someone else's it would be different.

No. Just plain no.

No.

Now that it's a 99% possibility I'm not having my own, it's much more difficult to imagine spending the better part of the year possibly sick and in pain and not even getting a child at the end of it.

I used to think I might if I already had kids and enjoyed the pregnancies.
