Why or why not? Defend your position.
9 months ago - Monday 1/2/17 - 3:05:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
It depends on the person.
9 months ago - Monday 1/2/17 - 3:35:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
kind of a case by case basis. like i wouldn't value the life of a mass murderer over starving children in africa.
9 months ago - Thursday 1/5/17 - 2:27:35 PM EST (GMT-5)
I do value human life - but my value is nuanced.

I oppose the death penalty.

I support an individual's right to forgo medical treatment or hasten their own death if they are in pain or faced with progressing dementia.

I support the right to choose whether or not to continue an unwanted pregnancy.

I oppose casual acceptance of "collateral damage" in war.

I oppose war.

Not really.

People are made in the image of God by God for His purpose. Seems like we ought to hold it in fairly high regard.

Did he make them child molesters? Or did he give them free will to chose to become what they wanted?

I don't feel the need to prove the obvious to someone who is determined not to see reason.
9 months ago - Monday 1/9/17 - 12:51:18 PM EST (GMT-5)
Then why comment?

Except you know it isn't obvious. And you know you can't defend your POV.

But hey, its OK. Go smoke some more pot.

No one wakes up one day and says hey I think I'll become a child molester!

It's a mental defect they are born with.

Nature over nurture, huh? I'm glad you're certain when so many experts aren't.

Next you're going to tell me I chose to be bipolar
9 months ago - Monday 1/9/17 - 6:35:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's like you can't admit that things go wrong sometimes.

I'm sure a clubfoot is God's will but if it happens in the head has to be the person's fault
9 months ago - Monday 1/9/17 - 7:01:54 PM EST (GMT-5)
You can't rehabilitate a pedophile.

Anyone caught being unable to control their urges and assaulting a child should be given a life sentence because like it or not there's no hope of them ever getting better

I comment because I come looking for conversation. Just because I spoke to you does not mean I have any obligation to make sure that you come around to my point of view. I have no obligation to you for anything whatsoever. So. Yeah. Sure thing, boss.

People like us, we don't have enough FAITH in the ALMIGHTY GOD LORD JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY AMEN.
Our faith is weak and that is why we are susceptible to the temptations of Satan and the demons who possess us.

Yeah if only I prayed more I wouldn't have freaked out and scared the s*** out of my ex so bad she divorced me
9 months ago - Monday 1/9/17 - 7:21:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
Right? And I wouldn't be mooching off of society if I had only chosen to be mentally well!

Things go wrong sometimes.

I don't agree with your assessment of pedophiles. Neither do a lot of experts. Recidivism rates for sex offenders are actually very low compared to other crimes - - something like 10-20% in some studies.

In general, I think we are all responsible for our actions. We have urges, we have desires, and those we cannot always control - but we can affect them, modify them, reduce or enhance them. But our actions: you are in control. Even mental disorders such as bipolar disorder. You can't control how you feel, but you can control how you respond to those feelings.

Nice. Apparently no obligation to yourself either.

If I had a choice as to how I react to my feelings, I WOULDN'T HAVE TO TAKE ANTIPSYCHOTICS, MOOD STABILIZERS, AND ANTIDEPRESSANTS EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, YOU F*CKING RETARD.
