This.

Which leads me to believe there is no reason there can't be more.

I think it is part of the human experience to strive for absolutes but live and find happiness in the falling short. I feel the worst development in society to day is the drive to avoid/ignore absolutes (or deny them) much as the movie line above does. Without the striving for absolutes we doom ourselves to merely settling for mediocrity.

Past: Absolute (it can't change, it already happened)
Present: Not absolute until it becomes (see above)
Future: Not absolute
