She'd probably choose for herself to die first and I don't want to die.

I'd prefer to die first, but since he's 20 years older it seems rather unlikely.

The quick, most acceptable and noble answer is that you'd like to die first. However, you could make an argument that you'd rather live w/ the grief of being alone than to make your spouse experience it.

That's actually what I was going to say. I honestly think that I'd deal with it better, but I don't mean it as if I wouldn't be devastated.

I hope so.

If I loved them, then I would want them to live as long as they can so I would go first.

I don't really want to deal with this question.
Which is fortunate, given that the gender gap + our age difference & family histories means that science has us dying at approximately the same time.

I'd rather die together. I am not good dealing with grief.

For this reason I'd want to be with someone 2-3 years younger than me, but there are no guarantees.

This question depresses me.
My Husband is 27 years older than me and this is the ONLY part of our age difference I have a problem with. I don't like to think that he may not be here someday.
But then I get a little hope because he is in wonderful shape, in some ways better than me. And his parents are 90. My eldest Grandparent only made it to 72, two of them died in their 50s, one in 60s. I have a family history of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and emphysema. Although I do not smoke, I do already have high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I lost my Daddy at 50 and my Mom is nearing 70 but is in worse shape than DH's 90 year old parents. I'm hoping things will even out and that we will die around the same time.
