Doubt it. Smokers aren't very bright to begin with.

Probably by a tiny percentage, but I highly doubt smokers are all going to quit cold turkey the second they spot this.

I don't know about other smokers, but that's definitely not going to stop me.
Not that I'm against this plan or anything. I don't care either way - - I just like to have a nice smoke sometimes.

No, I mean, there was a brand of cigarettes in the 90's called "Death Cigarettes" and everyone bought them out of irony.
People are going to continue to smoke no matter what you do to discourage them. It's that tiny bit of happiness left in life.

Not drastically, but I believe they will have a small impact.
They could influence smokers who are already thinking about quitting to finally kick the habit.

No. people who make the choice to smoke already know the risks they are taking.
to quote Dennis Leary:
"You could put them in a black back, with a skull and crossbones on the front..call em Tumors..and smokers would be lining up around the block saying 'I can't wait to get my hands on these f*ckin things! I hear you get cancer as soon as you light up..NUMNUMNUMNUMNUM!!!"

Can you stop costing the public millions of tax dollars because we have to pay for your surgeries and treatments when your pointless habit gives you and those around you cancer and various other health issues?

Doubt it, people who smoke would pretty much do anything for just that one smoke they want. On my mission, helping people stop smoking was one of the hardest things to do, a lot of them had the desire to stop smoking, but they were so addicted to it that they would always come up with excuses just to get that one smoke. When some has an addiction, they have something like a bell that keeps ringing and it won't turn off until they get what they want. What's key is to have the bell turned off so that it wouldn't turn on ever again and that's not very easy. We would give them the steps to help them stop, but they would have to follow it 100% and most of them would have a problem following at least one on the 15steps, if they don't follow all of them it doesn't work, but when they do, I have seen that it did work, and it helped them a whole lot to stop smoking, and got off of it cold turkey.

Sure, the moment you all stop drinking soda and stop forcing us to pay for your medication and surgery when your pointless habit gives you and your children dental degradation, diabetes, sugar addiction, clogged arteries, obesity and various other health issues

I notice you don't mention the millions of dollars the government gets in taxes from the sale of tobacco products. I wonder why...

People will certainly continue to smoke. But we've also seen that similar campaigns in Canada have reduced smoking rates. There's no reason to expect anything different here.

Everybody knows that adverts like this on cigarette packs won't change anything. Smokers already know the risks and continue to smoke anyway.
If governments want to fight smoking then they should ban smoking directly instead of putting warnings on packs, banning smoking in public(although that doesn't seem to work here anymore) and go directly after the tobacco industry if they seriously think that smoking kills, causes cancer and other health problems blah blah blah

It's hard to make people quit no matter how gruesome the advertising can be. But it can certainly prevent a new generation of smokers.

Smoking is going to go on and on and on.
I've been giggling most of the night because my DH told me as of this coming Friday, his workplace is going to be 100% smoke free, and the employees are not even allowed to smoke in their cars in the parking lot. So I want to go there on Friday and watch what kind of madness this creates.
And why do you smokers throw your butts all over the damn parking lots? It is so sickening. I am getting really tired of it... It is littering, plain and simple. Why do you think the world is your f*cking ashtray?
