My friend was shocked and appalled that I have no idea what my husband's e-mail password is. She checks her husband's e-mail a couple times a week.

He doesn't have mine. He doesn't care about chicken recipes and fabric sales. I don't care about computer programming and auto repair. Why would I even want to read his e-mail? Question Who's Online | Find Members | Private Messages

I do know the password to their main computer at home, but I dont have any other sensitive information.

I used to know the passwords to my exes things. Now he's changed them.I could easily hack into his email account, but I've decided I'd rather not see what I know must be there.

I do not. But he knows the password to my school account for registering for classes and checking grades and such, because I let him sign me up for a class when I didn't have access to a computer at the time.
It's also my facebook password, and I changed that password shortly after, but he got somewhat upset with the whole "you don't trust me?!" thing. so I changed it back. buuut I know he's not gonna sign in and snoop. So I guess it's not a big deal.

Asking for a partner's passwords is the same as telling them "I don't trust you, so you should trust me."

10 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Wednesday 3/24/10 - 4:58:37 PM EST (GMT-5)
We both know each others. Not for any particular reasons, sometimes we need to login to the others stuff. though never to snoop. I've never even had a blink of an urge to see if anything is up.

Also, even if she were up to something, she is far too intelligent to use the same email

I know a lot of the passwords for his stuff although he can never remember mine, even to use my laptop. He has me check his email for him pretty often, in particular when he's being lazy in the morning.

nah, we don't share passwords for email/facebook, etc but we do know our banking pins and passwords etc.
10 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Thursday 3/25/10 - 1:18:57 AM EST (GMT-5)
I know his passwords because I've needed them at times. Like if we are waiting on a reply E-mail relating to business and we are out on road, I have checked his E-mail with my phone. There are about three or four passwords he uses for everything. But we have no secrets...his computer is almost always on, his E-mail comes up automatically without entering the password because that is how he has it set up. And I often use his E-mail if his computer is ready to go and my laptop is not on. He is well aware that I know his passwords and it really isn't a big deal.

That was my thoughts. I'm sure if my husband was hiding something from me he wouldn't use an e-mail that I knew about, that the text messages would be deleted along with any voice mails, etc. My friend's husband probably would be that stupid though. They share a cell phone too, so I'm sure she checks his messages.

My husband gave me in ATM PIN once because I was going to the store and he wanted me to go by the ATM and he was too lazy to come. I know his social security number because I have the tax forms, plus I need the last four for my phone company.

If I really wanted to read his e-mail, it opens when I open one of his laptops.

My hubby doesn't use the internet often enough. He has all of mine though, if he ever wants to crack out his two fingers to type it all out. He's good at a lot of things, but not typing.

One of my friends always uses the same password- Rex007 and once Rex00156. You guys don't even know him anyway, so chill out if your gonna say like omg you just tolde everyone that.
10 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Thursday 3/25/10 - 12:06:27 PM EST (GMT-5)
I know his passwords, but I never check his accounts or log into anything
10 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Thursday 3/25/10 - 12:27:35 PM EST (GMT-5)

Sure. Well, I know his. He doesn't know mine. That's just because I have a better memory than him. Sometimes he'd ask me to check his online bank statement if I'm at the computer, or I'd ask him to print out some concert tickets from my email. No big deal.
10 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Thursday 3/25/10 - 12:31:18 PM EST (GMT-5)
I never give my passwords to anything out.

I have them somewhere in case of emergency. but...I don't give them out.
10 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Thursday 3/25/10 - 1:26:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
Some I do, some I don't.
10 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Thursday 3/25/10 - 1:30:21 PM EST (GMT-5)
I know how to find them in case of emergency, but I have no need or desire to go through his business. So I don't know them off the top of my head.

My husband knows one of my passwords because sometimes I ask him to look something up for me since I don't have internet at work. But I don't mind. Sharing a password with my spouse only isn't like sharing a password with the rest of the world.
10 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Thursday 3/25/10 - 1:36:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
I set up the basic computer and e-mail accounts at home, so I know those passwords. My wife uses the same logins and passwords for most things, so I likely know it for her other things as well. She probably knows mine as well.

Yes, I handle all the finances and do the book keeping so I kind of need all her logins, etc. I do have her logins for email and MSN, etc., too but I never use them.
10 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Monday 3/29/10 - 9:06:22 PM EST (GMT-5)

No. Your friend sounds extremely insecure.

Why does she need to check up on his email?
