I've no idea.

And if there is, I've no idea what He / She / It /They are like or what He / She / It /They want from humanity (if anything).

Obviously, I'm agnostic.

In my opinion there is more likely something than nothing, but I am not sure what exactly that something is.
10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 6:16:21 PM EST (GMT-5)
I believe that there is.
10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 6:44:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
it seems very unlikely to me
10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 6:47:44 PM EST (GMT-5)

10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 6:56:32 PM EST (GMT-5)

10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 7:01:01 PM EST (GMT-5)
No not the "christian" god, But there is something. I don't think anyone knows what though.
10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 8:03:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
My lack of proof favors non-existence.
10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 8:11:32 PM EST (GMT-5)
There's no way right now to prove God exsists.

But I know that God exsists because i can feel His love in my soul ,i can see his Creation all around me, And He Is the King of Kings, The Lord of Lords and That's My King.

3rd John (1:11)
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

If there IS a God, then he is one sick bastard.

Not necessarily. In the event of a deistic god, it would have as much control over humanity as a bowler does over the exact movement of the ball after it leaves his hand.

Personally, my view is that god is not strictly necessary, and this leaves only the options of believing in a deistic god, agnosticism or atheism.

However, I'm sure every rational person will agree (whether they believe it or not) that the god of the Bible is terrible.

Bella, another riddle for you: If good is the absence of evil and evil the absence of good, then how is it possible for either to exist without at least a slight presence of the other?

The perfect world run by your opinion of good would not be able to function without the presence of evil, yet you seem to think that it's entirely possible.

Yet, if there was no evil how can there be good? And how would you define "good" as good?

I agree that the god of the Old Testament isn't good, but the New Testament god is completely different. That is why some Christians didn't want to include the Old Testament when the Bible was being put together.

Well, the New Testament God is a lot better until you get to the book of Revelations. Then He turns nasty again.

Sorry, I did mean:

[...] the god of the Bible (not necessarily the god of Christianity) [...]

Though as a corollary, any rational Christian should realize their god is not the god of the Bible.

yes
10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 9:33:29 PM EST (GMT-5)
I believe so.
10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 10:51:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm agnostic but i answered no. The question should be do you believe in god because "is there a god" is an absolute leaving no room for negotiation.
10 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 3/6/10 - 11:53:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
most likely

That one is simple....

Morality is subjective!!

Though I doubt Bella would answer with that response.

By that definition, good would require the absence of evil to exist; in other words, they couldn't coexist. I assume what you mean is that, to exist, good requires evil as a contrast, in order to have any meaning. But a contrast need only be something that is not good, and this does not imply it is evil (unless you deny the existence of things which are neither good nor evil).

According to you, Hovind proved that God gave the universe the appearance of age, despite its being c. 6000 years old. How did he manage this without at least indirectly proving the existence of God?
