I'm right between New York and Boston...I like to imagine that they even each other out, but others don't seem to agree

Only once that I know of. It was when I was in Maryland and some people laughed at the way I said Rochester. I guess western New York is closer to midwestern than I thought.

Actually, I take that back. My sister made fun of me because, after four years at a college 40 minutes from the Canadian border, the way I say "about" has shifted slightly.

When I was very young, I spoke with a British accent. I vaguely remember some boys making fun of it once in first grade or so.

My southern U.S accent automatically drops my I.Q points by 10 or 20 when I travel north, one of my pet peeves.

The fact that you think your IQ changes when you travel north actually might lower your perceived IQ by 20-30 points.

Well, i come from one of the least urbanized places in this country, i generally talk with a broad accent..
So yeah i've heard it a time or two when talking to city slickers..
But of course, i do make fun of their accents as well so.

yeah I'm from St Helens, Jonny Vegas is a good representation of the accent but I was actually skitted for being posh inside St Helens and having a funny accent outside of St Helens!

Yes and I didn't think I had an accent...I have a Canadian accent apparently. I don't say "EH" or "aboot" or anything stupid crap that you Amercians make up.

I'm from a part of Ireland where the accent isn't too strong so when I leave the county it's not really made fun of. When I went to New York, people commented on the accent a lot though but not really to make fun of it.

I seriously can't tell what kind of accent I have. At all. No one has ever commented on it, either. Though I don't leave the area much.

No, they've made fun of my voice being too fast and my stutter, but that's not an accent

This one time, someone kept telling me that I have a "posh" accent (despite the fact it totally isn't), but they weren't really making fun of it as such.
